The racial and geographical origins of the ancient Egyptians have been a mystery since Champollion deciphered the hieroglyphs in 1822. The prevailing consensus is that the ancient Egyptian civilisation was home-grown on the Nile Valley. But new discoveries in the Egyptian Sahara will challenge this consensus, and show that the origins of the pharaohs hark back several thousands of years before the foundation of the dynastic period (c.3000 BC) and, furthermore, that the first 'Egyptians' were from a black Sub-Saharan race coming from the Tibesti mountains in northern Chad some 12,500 years ago. The oldest known 'astronomical' megaliths in the world, those of of Nabta Playa are examined in this presentation.
Born in Egypt in 1948, Robert Bauval, bestselling author of The Orion Mystery (1994), Keeper of Genesis (1996) and three books with best-selling author Graham Hancock (The Message of the Sphinx, Talisman, and The Mars Mystery), presents evidence published in the book, Black Genesis, (co-authored with US physicist Thomas Brophy). www.robertbauval.co.uk

Egypt did not start from outside of Africa, it started from within Africa, from the beginning of the Nile. The first pre-dynastic kingdom on the Nile was Ta-Seti which is located in the Sudan, the first Pharaoh came from Upper Egypt which included parts of the Sudan. Why would people living in the Levant go all the way up the Nile into what is Sudan to start a civilization (Ta Seti), then have it travel down the Nile, but stop at the Levant region.

The question of the race of the ancient egyptians is not only a scientific one but a ideological one, thats why it evoces this kind of emotional responce (look at the comment section). Most White people do not want to look at it objectivly because it really bothers them. Why, why this kind of aggression and hatred? Because it attacs their ideological framework on which their lives their civilisation and their self Image is built. This ideology is that the white man has superior intelligence and our current civilisation is the pinnacle of human achievment. Even if its not really said explicitly this is the believe system that keeps this western civlilization running.

@Ada Ghost Dude Egypt hadn't even invented the wheel by the time Caucasians came down from the north, where Atlantis was said to be and fought with them. So there is no way they built the pyramids. The knowledge to do those things was given and forced upon them by the ones who won that war and brought them chariots and knowledge of KEMistry, in this day and age it is one of the ancient homes of ancestral Alchemy. It no doubt had black people we all know this, however it was the pharaohs that brought it to greatness. They had more knowledge then just architecture and chemistry, they had knowledge of all kinds of things we still moan and cry about losing when the Library of Alexandria was destroyed.

Bauval is a genius. I've heard him talk so many times. He is a Great Pyramid EXPERT, the likes of Von Daniken, maybe even moreso. His office overlooked the Great Giza Pyramid for a few years as he worked as an Egyptologist, every day, looking at it, a mind like his, studying it. I want to tell you all something - if you listen to everything this man has to say about the Great Pyramid, not just in this video - Everything, then you yourself will become entrapped/enamored by the subject. Here's a teaser - there are no heiroglyphs inside this one, except the number 121, actually, 1, 100, and 20. That is the square of eleven. There is one more place where writing is found. On the underside of the sarcophagus of the King's Chamber. Look at these things and you will find that the Pyramid is one big riddle. And the answer is the speed of light PLUS ONE in miles per second. The secret answer to the riddle of the Pyramid is to teach our people how to travel faster than the speed of light. Against the laws of physics? Yes. Our known laws of physics. There have been other ways those laws have been broken. We started messing up, getting away from the answer during the sub-atomic, computer chip age. The math and laws no longer follow the same rules. I've gone too far. Someone smart please read this, and look into what I am saying.

Oddly Narcissistic individuals deflect and project (projecting their behaviors upon those that are envious or jealous of) - Bauval obviously intimidated Hawass with his knowledge and Integrity. We must learn to identify the behaviors of Narcissist Personality Disorder. They are Abusers of this world and create great drama - they feed off others pain and the drama they create. I hope our world receives a blessing of positive - goodness, and we level-up to much higher minded Empathetic Individuals.

A hand held tool is a good median compromise, Karen. The mind IS a tool. Whether it is controlled by an idea or it generates a controlling idea is a Kantian cunnundrum of the ages. The very slight irregular curvatures belie the tool thesis and the near perfect replications belie the hand thesis. We are before an ability yet unknown to today's human. In the 17th century, James Ussher, the Archbishop of Ireland, stated that the world was created on a Sunday, Oct. 23rd, 4004 BC. He developed this chronology based on a literal reading of the Bible. Elias Bickerman asserts that Christian historians have made secular historians serve this ecclesiastical history. Consequently, ancient Egyptian history has been made to fit the Bible, although the biblical stories are not historical. Ancient Egypt likely emerged as a civilization much earlier than modern scholars say it did.

It’s interesting to imagine the ancient Egyptians were aware of the short Milankovitch cycle which governs the green Sahara cycle of 20000 years dry and 5000 years green, and built the pyramids as an everlasting astronomical instrument that could foretell the return of the monsoonal climate and habitability of the desert. But it suggests that the North Africans were maintaining the study and theory of the sky for more than a full cycle and there is little evidence of that (Napta playa) as almost everything vanished with the return of the desert.

If the climate in North Africa was more like the modern day climate of Europe or Central Asia and life adapts to its environment, then think really hard… What did those people look like? Five "races" in five continents, what a joke, ha, ha, ha, you need to take 101 course in evolution. No serious anthropologist talks today of races, there is only one human race. Do you seriously believe there is an Adam and Eve for the various "races"? A simple example: Only the same species can reproduces themselves. humans with humans ( lion with lion cat with cat, etc.) no matter which continent the come from, this means there was a common eve for humankind and that was Africa. I know it is hard to swallow by racist so called whites which are basically depigmented former Africans.

I would add (for others educational benefit) that certain species can reproduce with other species so long as they are close enough on the evolutionary tree of life. However, despite the fact northern Europeans have a mix of Neanderthal genes, all of us have our origins in Africa based on DNA and archaeological evidence.

Two things: 1) You (Bauval) said they are not tombs but spend much of time explaining that they are resurrection machines, did the ancient builders of the pyramids have the same religion as the dynastic Egyptians? I think it would be unlikely and we have no tangible knowledge of the predecessors other than they built the pyramids. 2) The kings before Khafre, Khufu... built pyramids one way and the kings after them built them a different way ; so, what did they use for burial chambers. BTW, I agree that they are much older then 4.5k years but i find these issues puzzling.

I find Robert Bauval totally engrossing,in my opinion he Anthony John West Hancock Schock Carlson (and check out a rising star Ben over at UnchartedX) and others should be applauded not ridiculed in the mainstream for their thoroughness in putting forward the facts that are changing the way people are now seeing Ancient Egypt. On the subject of the so called mainstream, the latter day Lone Ranger and Tonto aka Lehner and Hawass though undoubtedly intelligent and learned on the subject of Ancient Egypt are at somewhat of an impasse on new/old findings especially the areas such as Geology and Astronomy which are eloquently explained by Bauval and in turn throw light on to a subject which is highly protected to a point of venomous verbal professional assassination in it's refusal to take on at least some of these ideas. Mark Lehner and Zahi Hawass are both getting up there in years, and i'm sure both Gentlemen would loved to be remembered in the future after their days if you will as Brilliant forward thinking minds of Egyptology,i think however they stand every possibility of being overlooked, and in turn ridiculed, that's something both and indeed other like minded Academics would not like. Robert please keep up the excellent work, Thank You

It was closest to the pole in 2830 BC, when it was less than 10 arcminutes away from the pole. It remained within one degree of celestial north for nearly 200 years afterwards, and even 900 years after its closest approach, was just 5° off the pole. Some believe it has an African origin. Others believe it has an Asian origin. 2. Djehutynakht was a governor during the Middle Kingdom period(12th dynasty). The FBI found his mt-DNA to be Eurasian(u5b2b5). These results may indicate that Egypt, even before the Hyksos, had a majority Eurasian descended population or was more mixed. That U5 haplogroup is mostly found with Europeans. You also had the Abusir results of 2017. Those results covered New Kingdom mummies. They leaned Eurasian.

What you call uncivilized never did the harm to mother earth that your so called civilization has done. If this is too hard for you to understand, you'll just prove my soulless caveman theory.

My take is the Pharaohs built the Pyramids. Simple evidence- is Its not the only thing they built with heavy stones. With their temples, obelisks, tombs and statues they more than proved themselves. If the Pyramids are much older, what else did those people build with same heavy stones? Only the Pyramids? Consistency wins the argument for the Pharaohs. No contest. They did it.

Nope the obelisks were pre dynastic… they were built along with the pyramids some of them still in the quarry of Aswan down south (upper Egypt) the tombs were not really built with granite but shafts in to the “hill/mountain” in the valley of kings in luxur.

Obelisks were Hatshepsut thing. The AE believe of preserving mummies is in line with their architecture. All designed for permanence.

i'm picking up Black Genesis today. So awesome to learn about Robert, Graham, and John Anthony for they all offer an amazing, life-changing understanding of how long humanity has been around. Thank you.
