A good lawyer never asks a question in court that she doesn't already know the answer to. Part of being a competent interviewer, particularly on a live TV/radio show, is to avoid letting the conversation wander off where you aren't in control. While the guy was onto something about the Fender Strat/Gibson LP divide, he never should have gone in that direction - if Robert wasn't such a pro, it could have spiraled way out of control.
