long time fan of the series including freddy's nightmare. as a child i couldnt get enough of the nightmare series, ive also enjoyed the books. i was lucky enough to see the nightmare series as a very young child. i remember going to sleep and thinking how i would defend myself against freddy as my counting sheep for sleeping. i think i had a good plan, but never tested.

when I was young my uncle made an actual glove with real blades scared the shit out of me at 6 years old but these movies are still my favorite out of all the boogie men If I had the mask and the glove it would bring back good memories of my uncle even though I couldn't sleep for a long time lol.

If you weren't there in the 80's for Freddymania, you don't know what you missed. Like Star Wars for the 70's kids, it was truly an exciting time. We had one a year, until the dawn of the 90's changed things forever. They would have Elm Street marathons at the movies and those who came dressed as Freddy would get in for free. Englund was a true rock star. Fangoria was the reigning magazine of horror. Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses ruled the airwaves. It was a fabulous time and the further we move away from it in time, the more mythical that time becomes for us. Robert Englund knows the zeitgeist he tapped into - even without ever making a movie again, he can make a healthy living in his twilight years on the convention circut. It'll be a truly sad time when he's no longer with us, and the death of a major icon.

First film is still scary to this day with just that concept of being afraid to fall asleep. Sure we have more nasty horrors these days with the torture scenes made famous from the Saw franchise but that is more sinister and uncomfortable to watch rather than pure horror.

He’s a legend along with Hodder and gunner. The first nightmare film I seen as a child was new nightmare and it was and is my favorite. I have had the mask from back then till now and it’s sitting outside bothering my non horror neighbors and I love it lol I’d love to meet him and have all my Freddy appeal signed. I'm not gay but I'll be the first to tell you that I fucking adore this man; Robert Englund. He's just the best, man. And even without 'fanboying', even a little, I can unflinchingly say that he is the only actor I can think of that has the ability to play such the.... vile, perverted, evil, nightmarishly ghoulish characters one can think of .... and yet, be *such* a kind soul. He also seems like he always makes time for his fans, and genuinely enjoys (most) conversations with them ... and that's regardless of how, completely fucking exhausted the man looks, and I'm sure feels, AND not even come across as a dickface. I can tell you right now, that, is something I know I would fail at lol. I mean, I obviously wouldn't want to, intentionally, be a dick to fans of mine, but... if I worked the kind of work/hours that he does (especially at the age of 69...?) heh, yeaaaahhh, NO! AND THEN have to deal with hordes of screaming fanboys/girls (I say that like it's a bad thing, even though I'm sure it's not lol, although..... I'm sure it can be, and HAS been a total pain in the ass before for him). But yeah, I would not be in *nearly* as good a mood, as he (at least appears) to be. I'm .a fan of you playing Freddy Krueger. I remember seeing the first Freddy Krueger movie in 1984 when I was young and today. I'm 48 he is old now and. I seen every last one of your Freddy Krueger movies and also some of your other movies but when you play Freddy Krueger to me those are my favorite ones to me that you play.

Actor Robert Englund is a genius. I really hope, now what with the release and success of the recent Halloween 2018, that a filmmaker takes interest, does, and proposes to Robert and Heather Langenkamp to reprise Freddy Krueger and Nancy Thompson in a new A Nightmare On Elm Street, a sequel to the original series or a new Part 2. May this happen as soon as possible!
