to me a guy at almost 40 years old fighting the way he did in this fight make me very suspicious, especially with getting a knockout 9 years later and this is coming from a massive pac man fight. I've always been suspicious of manny since the cotto fight. For me though this fight was fishy, especially the second knockdown, it didn't look hard and wasn't even flush.

D A N D Y W A V E S Rigo and Walters didn't throw much punches against Loma the whole fight. Sosa who also quit did more, he tried but also quit. Also, most fights the 1st rd is a measuring your opponent rd. With Manny, it's not so much about the power but more about the speed and the angles of the punches. It's not a secret that the punches thast hurts most are the ones they don't see coming. Manny has a really odd way of throwing punches, throws them on the wrong foot, throws them flat footed. Not ready to say Manny is hungry again and Buboy did a great job, but yeah, it does look that way to me. The split with Roach who I feel sold him out on few of Manny''s last fights and that canniving Arum is probably what he needed.

Mayweather quit boxing and fought a non boxer McGregor in his last fight. Margarito tried to be tough and didn’t quit and look at what happened to his face and orbital bone. Edwin Dela Cruz to be honest, the crowd wasn't helping. Getting outmanuevered by your opponent is one thing. You can still try and exert yourself, but the additional mental pressure of knowing you're somewhere far away in Asia surrounded by people rooting for Manny. I wouldn't blame matthyse. I would even say that it's a bit unfair and I'm a Filipino.

@@anondelirius3255 That's just how boxing works though. Pacquiao has fought outside Asia countless times and still won. Boxing is a mental fight just as much as it's a physical one, which I'm sure Matthysse understood. If anything, I think Matthysse accepted the fight thinking the older and aging Pacquiao would be more his match, especially after Pacquiao's fight with Jeff Horn which clearly showed his age (even though Pac still should have won that one). However, Matthysse got demoralized when he actually got into the ring with Pacquiao and realized how much quicker and more explosive Pacquiao had become since his fight with Jeff Horn. Matthysse simply wasn't prepared for that.

😒 . expected more smarts and insight from this guy. Lomachenko made people quit too. frustrates people when they feel there is no chance. this is what pacman did to Lucas. Coming into the fight Lucas probably thought he had the edge in speed and power over a diminished and aged pacman. You could tell he was still enthusiasticly engaging in the early rounds. but maybe as soon as he felt the power and saw the speed , the unorthodox style his confidence died. Mind you , Lucas said it himself. This is the biggest and most important fight in his career. He did not quit cause of lack of trying. The Legend killed his will .

Yes, 2013 Lucas was a beast. But let's be honest here; 2013 Pacquiao would have still wiped the floor with 2013 Lucas, possibly in the same fashion as he did a few days ago or even more dominantly. Especially if it was at 140, Pac's proper weight. And this would have been the Pacquiao right after he got KO'd by JMM in 2012. 2013/2014 Pacquiao convincingly beat Timothy Bradley, a fighter that's at least a league above "prime" Lucas Matthysse.

In regards to Matthysse not trying, his first down was from the rear left uppercut right hook, which set up the second down. The second one from the right hook to the same left side of his head, put him down after a few seconds had passed, pausing then taking a knee for the count. I think here he probably fractured his eye socket or worse broke it. Like what happened with Kell Brook against GGG. Taking the final right hook left rear uppercut to yet again the same side of his face, just finished him off. He was a bit timid due to the speed at which pacquiao came at him but personally I think a bigger injury kept him hurt and vulnerable the entire rest of the fight.

Robert is trying to be respectful but everybody knows Pacquiao beat a over the hill fighter, Manny doesn't want to fight Mikey Garcia Amir Khan Errol Spence or Terence Crawford,at this point in his career he can't even beat Loma so he calls out Floyd and maybe he will fight Keith Thurman now that he's on the decline, we all see what's going on.The funny part of it all is the sanctioning bodies creating another belt for Manny, my opinion at this point is Manny will fight on choosing his opponents very wisely and carefully,possibly still losing one or two more times he can't just retire now because he can't get that Floyd fight out of his head.

Manny inflicted fear in Matthysse that's why... i guess. Manny was strong in that fight against Lucas. Why? When Lucas took a knee when got hit by a right hook to the left temple. Delayed reaction which im sure rocked Lucas' brain. On the other hand, man I really love watching and listening to Robert's input and wisdom everytime he is interviewed.
