4 жыл бұрынWith the historic events of the last few weeks still deeply on our minds, we remembered this incredible moment when Robert Glasper joined us to check out Keyscape for the first time. This haunting piano meditation was created as Robert was checking out the Cinematic C7 Piano in Keyscape. There are times when Music can speak louder than words and this seemed like the right time to put this one together and share it with you guys. Thank you Robert!
For this mix, we ended up turning all the internal reverb/EQ off that patch to give a more intimate sound.

Robert is using a Roland A-88 to play Keyscape in this video. The keyboard stand is a custom Gibraltar build.

In 2017 I took care of my mother, she was very ill. The only piece of music she loved was Levels, it brought serenity, brought her peace. She died december 14th 2017. I miss her every day. Robert Glasper thanks forever❤

Even as big as he is, I think Robert Glasper should be way more popular then he already is, but I’m glad that the audience he gets the attention from are people who enjoy actual music.

Keep practicing, learn scales, keep practicing some more, play to a metronome, keep going. You’ll be surprised how achievable it is to simply speak with an instrument.

I crossed a milestone along my musical path when I realized that what you say is the primary target of technique practicing. Up to that moment I thought studying technique was barely a means to "unlock" new capabilities and virtuosisms, then I've figured out that I need it first of all to make myself more comfortable and satisfied with what I already know. Disappointed that he’s never released an album of just himself playin keys. His band and trio albums are great, but I’d like to hear just him play for a whole album straight through for once.

This right here is my dude. I call him a modern day Quincy Jones because of his fearlessness musically. Will collaborate with anyone. genre bending and genre mixing he isn't scared. His original roots like so many, from the gospel of church to straight ahead jazz then on. This my dude. Brother ain't scared top mix it up. His mind and imagination are off the charts. Love RG

A friend of mine was personal training a music teacher named Doc who told him to go see one of his ex students at a small venue in Houston named Cezanne. The trainer couldn’t make it but told me what Doc said. I went to the venue that capacity was 50 and saw Glasper and Chris Dave that night and it was history! My mind was forever blown! Todd Johnson is a fan for life!!!
