A genuine good guy. Years ago, I wrote him about his short story collection, and especially "Night Calls the Green Falcon." He was very gracious and wrote me back.

AreYouIntoHorror? Richard!!! Hi there my friend! I had to laugh when I read your comment, lol! Yeah you can bet that if it's about McCammon, I'm there for it! As a matter of fact, today, July 17th, just so happens to be his 68th birthday! I think I've probably watched every interview and read any article that has anything to do with McCammon. He really likes rock music (so do I), and he has a song here on KZfaq that he did about 10 or so years ago...it's called My Creations. I have to be honest and say though, he's the best writer on this planet, and that's a good thing, because his singing abilities could use some help, lol! It was nice running into you here Richard. Take care, and I'll be seeing you over on AreYouIntoHorror! 🤗

I had the wonderful pleasure to meet Mr. McCammon at Stokercon in Grand Rapids. Such a nice man and willing to speak to a gibbering fan.

His book "Boys Life" is the best book I've ever read. I don't think "Boys Life" can be classified as horror but I assume the audience is a group of aspiring horror writers so it was interesting and gratifying for me so see that they applauded and reacted so positively when "Boys Life" was brought up. I know he said he has a lot on his plate but I sure wish he would write a sequel to this book that his said he is most proud of.

Such a great writer, he deserves to be more widely read. They Thirst is a classic.

Wow, so open, some real beauty at 46:12 "I'm called to it, I waked away and I was called back". Then when he talks about how he was raised by his rich grandparents and his Grandfather was a brutal man, wow.

A traumatized Child with ADHD a I couldn't focus to read a book. My 1st was Diary of Anne Frank ;broken up into diary entries and my 2nd Book Swan Song and I was entranced and I was given hope and pride, because the size and speed was a little voice over all the horrible Violence of a tall whitetail movie g to The South Bronx in 1981. Books were my refuge and forever Swan Song is my #1 book.

One of my favorite of all time vampire novels! That and the Light at the End, John Skipp and Greg Spector. Took my beat up copies to Stokercon and met Skipp and signed both and goofed with me. Unfortunately Greg was too ill to attend.

This guy is great. He's one of few writers who seems to really write what he'd like to read. And a joy to read he is. A travesty he stopped writing for a time. Of all the writers who should stop publishing, (King, Koontz, Patterson) he is not one of them.

Dean used to be an amazing story teller, but his latest stuff is almost impossible to wade through.I think some where in the Odd series he forgot how to tell a story that wasnt so formulaic.

Tisha Nortac I gave up on Koontz's new stuff after What the Night Knows. After Revival, I'm giving up on King's new stuff too. He's lost it.
@Stunatra9 жыл бұрын
Yeah Koontz is awful now and has been for nearly 10 years. I think he's lost his sanity. King seems a little off-in the head now, too. I tried reading his new book but it was the most boring start to any King book that I can remember, I haven't read them all but a good portion of them and Revival is the only one I had to put down and read something else in the first 30 pages). Which writers do you speak of? Stephenie Meyer isn't an amazing writer...lol

King still writes decent fiction. The Outsider and The Institute were pretty legit

I yet to read his books I hear they good but I can't get of them in UK. I'm going to look for them on Ebay.

Criminally underrated writer. Twice as good as King, but not nearly as successful. Boys Life and Swan Song are some of the best books I’ve ever read

What I would say to the critics/publishers that say Robert McCammon is a "horror" writer,...Uh,..what about "MINE"? No supernatural, no vampires, no witches...nothing so "usual".

What's going on with McCammon's career? There's so huge hipe about King but McCammon is in deep shadow. His books are almost perfect scenarios for great blockbusters but instead nothing on big screens
