What a genuine man. Delighted for him, love to see players like this succeed in such a tough and mentally demanding sport. We're lucky to live in the era of some of the greatest players to pick up a cue, but stories like this make snooker special too

His opponent goes home with 20k, not bad. It’s a bit harsh that a top 16 seed that looses in the first round gets nothing, glad it didn’t happen here. I think this should be changed, after all, they did earn their place in the first round by their overall performance being the top 16 no less than the qualifiers.

I agree. Follow the darts structure more than the snooker, but they are essentially run by the same organisation. Making it to the World championship should be rewarded yes. It makes a big difference to the darts players for sure, and snooker should be the same.

You missed the Welsh open, Mark williams 147 at the crucible, his intro music , his smooth quick game and he is in the top 16. He has been around 30 years in this game brilliant to watch at times 👍
