Robert Palmer.....The Gentleman singer. Voted the Best Dressed man in Music during his era! An absolute brilliant musician who's career spanned over 30 years before his untimely death. No doubt he wasn't finished and would have gone on making incredible music.

@@the_grube5782 I could see him doing that. He was a very humble man and an absolutely brilliant musician and singer. Back when you actually had to have actual TALENT to be in that industry. In the days before vocal coders and enhancers, etc. Robert Palmer could sing LIVE almost as good as he could on a studio recording. Very few musicians can actually do that.

True. I think so much of what people like these days are overproduced music with Barbie and Ken singers. Robert Palmer is a real man with a real voice. If you didn't grow up in his time, you'd find this amazing music blah. His look is so sophisticated but that's boring and blah for many of today's young music listeners.

This is the remixed version off his greatest hits CD. He said he always hated the weak mix on the original song , so he finally put what he envisioned on his greatest hits. Drums are heavier in this version and its more rockin' overall.. 👍

In November 1988 I was on a construction crew working on a new field house at the university in Sioux Falls. I was at a club one night and this song came on! I was just jigging to it in my chair and a lady pulled me onto the dance floor!! An hour later she took me home to her place and gave me the best ride I ever had in my life! What's interesting about this classic rock pop song is that Robert Palmer went on to develop a funky blue eyed soul persona through the decades but actually began with solid timeless rock songs as this. Paired together with a brilliant music montage reflects Palmer at his early best.

Saw him in concert...3 nights in a row..... front row/center.....in 85 while he was ' fine tuning " the material for his RIPTIDE album...yes album......NOW BEAT THAT! Saw him 5 more times before he passed, too soon. RIP

I have always loved artists who put the heart and soul into their art. You could FEEL the emotion in their music. I feel the same about MEATLOAF. He couldn't he more opposite than Palmer but, you can just feel the emotion in his songs. Also, both are widely underrated, underappreciated artists

I played this song for my Oncologist and she nearly fell over laughing. She said it's the first time a patient did that. She's so cool and she saved my life.
