People assume that just because you wear black that you're automatically labeled as "depressed and/or suicidal." He's never been that depressed or he would've killed himself by now. That's why people need to stop judging based on appearance.....

“Goth rock” isn’t how I’d even describe their music at all. Alternative rock is a much genre definition tbh because, as you said, they’ve never just done one sound.

@@lynchmaleideal yeah, to be honest, I agree, and I think "P0rnography" is their only album that falls under the "Goth Rock" genre. But yeah just about all their other stuff is more alternative rock.

I saw them in June and September in Chicago and two concerts were the most hypnotic and messermizing concerts I have ever heard. The wealth and range of songs they performed from their entire career waa just stunning. Varied, unique, clever and satisfying. Bravo

Alternative was briefly used in the late 80's, early 90's as a potential category but, the label was quickly hijacked, mostly by American college radio stations in the mid to late 90's to categorize the new and emergjng Seattle "grunge scene", along with emerging indie bands of various types and it was rapidly and widely dismissed and omitted as a label or category for bands like The Cure and many other that fall within the Post Punk, Goth, New Wave, Darkwave, Coldwave, Synth, Industrial, Shoegaze etc. etc. genres.

Don't be so sure. There were some die-hard fans there that I've seen at many shows over the years. The autograph I got that day still hangs in my home. :)

I think for most Cure fans the autograph is more valuable to them than the couple hundred dollars at most it would fetch on eBay
