I saw this one live, the audio was off on the livestream but I’m glad you recorded it. Luna is so defensive over beech 😩 I’m surprised bomber didn’t come running with all the commotion!

Beech is Luna's brood roost and Gylfie tests her regularly. They are beautiful ladies and make the world a better place by being in it and caring for new broods every year.

That was an intense fight between Gylfie the barn owl and Fun the tawny owl. We love them both, so we didn't want either owl mommy getting hurt. Thankfully it was was over quickly, and both owl mommies seemed all right. Thank you Robert for this gripping short.

Very intense fight over a very popular nest, glad they are both ok. Hope Gylfie learned not to poke around every nest box so much.

If your new here like I am trying to understand what's going on. From my research. The Tawny Owl is the darker Owl and her name is Luna and this is her home and she's birthed and raised owls here. The barn owl is the white owl Gyfie. From the comments she seems to shop around for new homes alot. Maybe the home is popular. But she went into this one to claim it and it already belonged to Luna. Luna comes in after to defend it and Gyfie leaves. Hope this helps and saves you some time figuring out whats going on.

Well, that's a lot of screeching and howling because of a hole in a tree.

Omg 😢 Usually only see the barn owls screeching but Luna was screeching as well. Also thought it was snowing when Luna exits at 0:44 to 0:52 but it's a feather storm. 🪶

I find it really heartbreaking to watch these 2 beautiful and endearing birds fighting so hard.. this is wildlife and fighting for nest and territory is part of their existence, but still, tough to watch. Knowing that a bad wound could get infected and both could die eventually out of such kind of fight. Life is hard for them.

Ive lived at my house for five years and as of tonight i have a pair of Great Horned owls courting outside. Constant hooting for 2 1/2 hours. This is a suburb to so its amazing to hear it.

I couldn’t watch. I am very empathetic and to hear the screams of animals, especially birds, is horrifying. I don’t like to see animals hurt or killed. I have spent all my life out in nature, so Seen enough of that to last me two lifetimes.
