I like this interpretation very much. This narration of the Grail is vocally well nuanced, with expression, full of inner ardor and grandeur. This is really a Knight from another world, excited to reveal his true identity. And "die Taube/ the dove" moment is so sweet, that you truly feel the descending of the Holy Spirit. Bravo, Roberto.

I agree, maybe his voice is not very sweet sounding, but he is true Kinght of Graal here. Most of the time.

Beautiful! The ‘critics’ who say he can’t do Wagner really make me tired! To me, he is so full of feeling and passion, that is what matters! Brilliant!

He can't "do" Wagner. In his prime he could be a great Lohengrin, but at this point in his career he sounds old, bad intonation too. I lova Alagna but love Wagner too.

Je ne m'attendais pas à entendre Roberto chanter Wagner, mais c'est sublime! Félicitations! En plus on comprend chaque mot! Quelle sensibilité. Il n'a pas fini de nous surprendre;

Very good. I am glad to see his vocal difficulties have gone. He is not a heldentenor, of course. But he is simply Lohengrin.

Calixto Bieito ridiculise l'opéra à chaque fois sans exception . M. Alagna le sauve, mais il a ses limites. Lohengrin ne peut pas être contemporaine

Wow - the conductor really brought the pulse of the opera to arrhythmia to allow Alagna to plod through this. Acknowledging his limitations mid-career, I think Alagna's work in the last decade or so has been artistically FAR more interesting than in his glorious youth, when he seemed encouraged to rely on the sheer prettiness of the sound (and his own handsomeness) over depth of interpretation and artistically purpose. I would previously ignore a production if I saw him on the billing and am now finding myself interested to see how he navigates a role - I wish, however, that this were not done at the expense of tempi.

Interprétation très expressive et sensible, mais qui ne traduit pas la puissance surhumaine du demi dieu, Lohengrin ! C'est bien en allemand, mais il aurait pu faire l'effort un jour de se lancer dans l'aventure périlleuse de le chanter en français, comme l'inégalable Georges Thill!

Un opera se chante dans la langue originale même si elle est abrupte .les critiques sont unanimes maestro Roberto Alagna a été parfait et a rendu à son héros une humanité que lui seul peut inspirer

@@sylvaineraynaud220 un opéra est un bien universel! Un vrai chanteur français doit être capable de tout chanter dans sa tessiture !Adapter au français les paroles d'un chant"étranger", ça ne doit pas être une trahison (comme ce qu'ont fait les Anglais et les Américains de notre cantique d'Adam!),mais un hommage rendu à l'auteur!si vous arrivez à chanter en magyar,je vous paye des cerises ! Pourtant les Hongrois doivent pouvoir chanter dans leur langue !j'estime qu'ici Alagna ne se met pas dans le personnage de Lohengrin :il ne l'a pas compris,comme il ne comprend pas le romantisme et la sensibilité particulière wagnérienne! J'ai des enregistrements chantés en allemand par de grands chanteurs allemands, c'est un enchantement et un ravissement,tout comme l'interprétation en français de Georges Thill ! Alagna ne fait ici que de l'Alagna, comme ça lui arrive souvent!Vous avez bien le droit de l'apprécier"tel quel"!

@@jeanvandenberghe6664c est un jugement très dur et pour moi injuste car maestro Alagna un de nos plus grand tenor n a plus à prouver sa tessiture, je persiste à dire qu in opéra comme une poésie ne se traduit pas au risque de perdre sz profondeur

Es un buen intento, pero lamentablemente Alagna no es un tenor heroico. Debería nacer de nuevo para cantar esto como corresponde.

Nemorino en Lohengrin..... Parsifal et Sigmund aussi peut être et tant qu'y est .... TRISTAN! Vivent les modèles réduits.....au moins ça prend pas de place. Franchement nul!
