I've said it before, and I'll say it once again; people like to say that Baggio wasn't decisive in the scudetto victory that season because he was injured for most of it, but for me that's not the case, as although he wasn't as important as Vialli, he made decisive contributions even without playing a lot, and people make Del Piero to be more decisive than he actually was aside from his great goals against Fiorentina and Lazio. I know that this game was early on in the season, and that Milan didn't actually have a great Serie A campaign, missing out on a European Cup spot, but given how dominant they were in both Europe and Italy over the previous few years - and seeing as they still reached the Champions League that season and went on to win the scudetto with Baggio the next year - for me this victory over Milan, with Baggio's decisive goal with his clever trickery to beat out Costacurta in the air, and his great all-round performance, is what really gave the team the confidence to believe they could finally go all the way this year, which they ultimately did. He deserved more respect from the Juve board, and it's a shame, because if they'd tried to keep him he would have a few more major titles to his name, and might have taken part at Euro 96 and Italy might've done better with him.
