The team had some weaknesses and injury problems unfortunately; plus they changed so many managers and there were problems in the dressing room. It's a shame because Baggio was in good shape that season. Then there was also some bad luck against Manchester United in the Champions League with a wrongly disallowed goal and Zanetti' hitting the post, and Man U's fortuitous goals. But Inter were going through a very difficult period at the time. The next year they had an even better team and didn't do all that well, and even under Cuper they had a strong squad, and while they were competitive they still disappointed. With Mancini they finally won the Coppa Italia and then after Calciopoli something changed and then they became almost invincible in Seriei A and they won the treble with Mourinho, but then they collapsed again. Now with Conte they are looking more competitive again; hopefully it's the case.

@@jackpuccini3143 yes I remember da games against Manchester I was watching them, I remember Baggio was in good shape he scored 2 goals against Real Madrid da series before and was hoping R9 would help out

@@dsanchez9703 Unfortunately Ronaldo was already having injury problems that season as well. It's a shame they couldn't play more together. The same with Vieri as well.

Outside of Baggio, Ronaldo, Simeone, Zanetti, Bergomi, Djorkaeff, (and a young Pirlo), the squad wasn't all that great; very workman like. And with the likes of Hodgson at the helm we were never going to see him maximize the attacking talents at his disposal.
