His technique and power of his legs were so unique. When he hit the ball right, it was just unstoppable. Very few players had that ability, and fair play to him. He talks about his free kicks, and talks about technique. Yes, technique of his was good, but his leg power was just as important. So many times he pulled of that perfect shot, so it was no fluke with him, he is right he had a technique for doing it, and he applied it very well, and fair play to him. Some of his shots were stunning.

That was a major problem for defensive walls, they would leave gaps to maximise coverage for Beckham's extreme curl and accuracy, then Beckham would dummy and Roberto Carlos would blast it through the wall with his extreme power and accuracy, it worked the other way round as well, I think that they would see the composition of the wall and know immediately between them who was the best option.

A lot of people forget, he is one of the best defenders ever. His positioning was excellent, he knew when to tackle and had the speed of an Olympic. On top, he had incredible technique and a hell of a left foot.

ну не гений - ну вот чего не откажешь это оскоки и выбор позиции а так же щтрафаки с перемешением точки удара... сам как тог обучился лупить под 200 кмч и относительно точно но до Роберто где еще и подкрутки меня близко не стояло. Но Вратарю даже прямо низом ( а кстати это жопа какая проблема и у Карлоса есть такие ... спасибо у него подглядывал студентом) Роберто гений выбора позиции и командной игры - он с мячом и мяч к нему отлетает. Вот тут гений ну реально вот так выбирать где ты... только Карлос...

I like a lot of the people overrated Marcelo being as close as R Carlos. Don't get me wrong, Marcelo is an excellent Left back, probably the best right now. But R Carlos is greatest left back because he can does stuff like this.
