What the actual fuuuuug. Obviously gel touching the skin / constant exposure to un-cured gel polish can lead to allergies. And when you become allergic to acrylates, you are pretty screwed. Lots of medical items contain acrylates, so much makeup, dentures, any adhesives. I hope for her sake this didn’t cause any allergies. She may not know until further down the line!

@@aldergreentheoretically but a tanning bed have different power outputs, thus why a short tanning bed session has an impact on the shade of your skin in a shorter time in comparison to your hands in a nail dryer. The consequences of this kind of UV exposure may not even become apparent for another few decades. Growths on the ocular surface, cancerous lesions on the delicate skin around the eyes and the actual retina, early onset macular degeneration, not to mention treatments for these conditions range from needing to use eye drops several times a day up to intravitreal injections (yes, IN the eye) and potentially even losing an eye. It’s not worth it!!!

As a professional nail artist I’m absolutely appalled at this! Even if she used the BEST quality brand of gel polish the amount of dangerous chemicals in gel polish is unreal. We are taught over and over again not to ever get gel polish on the skin around the nails! That’s a teeny tiny amount that is dangerous! If she becomes allergic to the chemicals it could later in life effect whether she can have surgeries, dental work etc. the knock on effect is crazy!!!! I’m absolutely shocked at what I just watched!! And I’m sure she probably used cheap gel polish which likely has even worse chemicals!!! I’m 15 years in the business and I’ve never seen anything as stupid as this!!!

@@ZoeAlleyne yeah so there are some chemicals in gel polish that are the same as some of the chemicals you will find in say a hip replacement.. and people have a hip replacement have nothing but pain and bother then when tested it shows because of the allergy they’ve got from gel polish (mainly the chemical Hema) their whole body is rejecting the hip replacement. So it’s has to be replaced again for a much much more expensive material. It has such a knock on effect. If your tech using good quality products and is educated properly then the likelihood of this happening is very small but people doing their own nails at home and using cheap cheap products from Amazon/eBay etc is causing a huge spike in allergic reactions from gel. Then you get this idiot woman just plastering it all over her face! And just because she doesn’t show signs of an allergy now doesn’t mean she hasn’t got one! 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s only funny when Cristine acts this way cause it’s actually her personality. That type of humor is only funny when it comes from its source, not when it’s imitated. Cause it’s not an act or humor- SHE is what’s funny. When it’s imitated like this it’s just…. Uncanny, which causes the brain to feel annoyed. And it is very much annoying. As someone who became allergic to gel and all nail polish now, almost a year ago, i couldn't imagine doing that to my face. The reaction is so painful and the healing process is like 2 or so weeks for me. And the skin on your face is so much more sensitive than your hands and fingers. My allergy happened one day out of no where. I did my nails literally a week before the allergy, my nails are oily so the polish gel or not lifts off my nails in less than a week. So i would paint my nails with gel usually once a week. And i painted my nails like every other time and was now allergic to it. What if she had happened to suddenly have the allergy and didn't know it until she put it on her face and had the horrible reaction to it. Also it was so close to her eyes and mouth, which in itself is super dangerous. Doing dangerous stuff for views is stupid and a terrible trend that we're seeing so often now.

So I started doing my own fake nails and did a whole bunch of research before I started. Allergies never crossed my mind. I found out I was horribly, horribly allergic to everything. My fingers broke out into an awful bumpy itchy rash, then the bumps swelled with fluid, hardened and flaked and eventually(a month) got better. I can not believe she would do something so dangerous.

She could have done multiple layers of a mask, taken it off, and then painted the mask by itself. If she wanted to do it that badly there was still no need to do it while it was on her face! Not to mention the fact that she put a UV light right near here eyes multiple times without protection. Tiktok either needs to have more restrictions from governments about what is allowed to be posted. I mean the looting alone is ridiculous

When I see people well into their thirties or older do things like this, I seriously get concerned. It almost makes sense in my head that youths and stuff do outrageous things for attention on the internet- they've been raised in an age of social media and told that fame and money come from attention online. Sad as it is, that's the way things are at the minute. But for a grown adult who should damn well know better- WHO KNOWS THAT PEOPLE AND CHILDREN ABSOLUTELY WILL IMITATE THEIR ACTIONS- do something so dangerous, irresponsible and downright moronic ... it scares me. Grow the hell up.

The MOST frustrating thing is that it is hard to get the word out about really really dangerous things like this without giving the content creator who does it more exposure. Do you ignore it and know that people will find it in their own? Or do you point it out, possibly driving lots of others to engage with it, and call it out; thus giving the algorithm more positive feedback to show you more stuff like it? Like the quote from the 80s movie War Games says,” the only way to win is not to play the game”.

.....Once, when I was VERY young and VERY new to makeup, I didn't have any makeup remover when I wanted to remove some mascara and eyeliner. What I DID have, was nail polish remover (~acetone free~). My very naïve thought was "well, if it's strong enough to remove nail polish, it must surely be strong enough to remove makeup, right?" No, I did not understand anything about the chemistry involved in any of it. I tried to remove my eye makeup with nail polish remover. LUCKILY, I was in the bathroom when I did it, so I could turn on the tap and get my eyes rinsed IMMEDIATELY. Which I did, because - shock and surprise - it burned like HELL the second I got it on my lids. And I was fine. Shaken, and it made me realize that nail polish and makeup are not the same thing, and that what's fine to put on my nails is not fine to put on my face. But I was FINE. My sight and skin was not damaged. I rinsed it in time. But I watch this... And I think back to that evening about two decades ago... And like, as a child, I was naïve and ignorant enough to put nail polish remover on my face. There is ZERO doubt that children who watch that video could easily think "oh, wow, what a fun way to make a mask!" and decide to try it out, because this grown woman did it and she was fine! What a stupid, irresponsible video to make...! As an adult, how can she not think it through first???? I agree with you, Robert - if she's so sorry, she should take the video down. Dear gods.... Just because someone sends you a challenge does not mean you have to do it..! Excellent video and break-down, Robert!

She has to be the luckiest person on the actual PLANET that this didn’t literally ruin her skin or her eyes or anything else. The thing is, most people don’t have that kind of luck, and even if they do, one day it inevitably runs out. Imagine it running out on the day you decide to put gel nail polish on your face and freaking cure it… I will never understand a grown adult behaving this way on a public forum where younger, more impressionable people can take their already stupid idea and run with it. We’re supposed to protect the youth and guide them.
