Fascinating, mesmerizing and rather humorous skating program even non-skating fans enjoy.

I don’t care who can throw a quad, they can’t compete with this guy.
@jojokeaneАй бұрын
True. I see why the quads are necessary but it leaves less room for the artistry.

Robin seems almost weightless, you can't seem to see him land on the ice after a jump. For a tall man he's like thistledown. Marvellous.
@janicetaylor23335 жыл бұрын
When he is landing from a jump his feet are already starting the next steps. Brilliant.

My husband and I watched this on a grainy black and white TV in London when living there. Ive never forgotten it and today for the first time have watched it on KZfaq. Thank you You Tube 💕
@nikekoos12 жыл бұрын
As it wasn't only about the number of rotations, there were no long periods of preparation and taking momentum for the jumps. The choreography was wonderfully harmonized with the music, (not only in this performance) and he was both technically and artistically just out of this world. Not to mention his ability to perform... In my opinion there has been nobody comparable ever since, not even Plushenko (who is an other fav of mine) or Chen today... Robin Cousins was an Artist.

I show this to introduce non-fans to ice skating. :D Robin Cousins continued, post-Olympic career, as a professional dancer, appearing in the original London cast of CATS (I believe he was the naughty tomcat, Rum-Tum Tugger).
@bpoleary1 Жыл бұрын
@@montykitty So based on that, it looks like Jason Gardiner was never needed on the judging panel on Dancing On Ice anyway.

The King of Footwork! Plus, he just about skates to/expresses every note. that's what skating should be all about: Music Interpretation, great Edgework technique, winning the audience. Brilliant!

So elegant and his jumps! So high and effortless! Love his delayed single axel. The youngsters today have a lot to learn from Robin Cousins.

the 80's and 90's was a golden time for skating, w/Robin Cousins, Scott Hamilton and Curt Browning bringing new, innovative skating to the fore. I miss those days.

Bellissimo!!!
@emilygraham11536 жыл бұрын
Too good. Robin"s innovativeness is without match. Who would even think of doing a jump rotation with one leg in split position - let alone pull it off effortlessly and perfectly. Oh and then return to Fred Astaire type nonchalance as part of the character he"s portraying. What style. What Flair. What a skating sensation showman. Cranston, Curry and Cousens. Thank you all!! xxxx
