Bernie and Robin were both from Chi-town, so yeah they're comedy styles were very similar. Robin's career was just starting to heat up when he died too, being featured in movies every year from 88' to 90; I'm Gonna Get You Sucka (88), Do the Right Thing & Harlem Nights (89), House Party & Mo Betta Blues (90). He was definitely the next one

LOVE Robin Harris, if I'm not mistaken, after this standup, he was found dead in his hotel room the next day, he would have been the host of Def Comedy Jam instead of Martin Lawrence. I don't want to say Bernie Mac bit off him, but I'll say he did pick up from where he left off...RIP to a Comedic Legend!

Yeah, i read somewhere that he died a few weeks before the special aired Chris.. either way, he was great, died way too soon.. didnt know about the def comedy jam💯💯thanks for the info and for watching as always bro

You guys are the Goats for this. I remember everything about Robin Harris from his first television debut on Robert Townsend's Partners in Crime Comedy Specials on HBO. The Special he was on he was on He Stole the Show. You just knew he was gonna be a Star. My favorite from Robin was when he was in Mo Better Blues. When He told Wesley Snipes His Head was Shaped like a Question mark & Everybody broke Character & They kept the Scene in the Movie. 🤣🤣.

Got to agree...I definitely think Robin Harris was a big influence to the goat Bernie Mac!! I think Robin did a animated movie back in the late 80's / early 90's called Bebe's kid's.....🤔....so long ago. He was hilarious. 👍..... was Bernie doing stand up around Robins time?

Bernie was influenced by Robin. Both have the same style of comedy. Robin was 35-36 here. He died in 1990 at 36. Please check out “piccolo player” by Robin. You’ll be laughing your ass off.
