I wanted to pay tribute to a character I love and a film that I think, if done properly, would have been so good. So here's my condensed, hopefully bettered version of Robin Hood (2018) 😏
This was the first movie I watched where Taron Egerton caught my attention so it holds a very special place in my heart. Plus, Robin is simply perfect and I adore him. Yeah, the movie itself isn't great and there are a ton of things I would change if I had my way, but the one constant good thing throughout is Taron's performance. I love the honesty and vulnerability he brings to what could have easily been a one-dimensional character.

I agree! Taron's performance is spot on. Actually, everyone's performance is good. I don't know how this was made into such a bad movie with all the pluses that it had going for it. The editing is weird. There are beats in the movie that do not really mesh well together. It threw off the pacing of the movie. The kiss scene down by the wagon was awkward and seemed forced just so Will could see it. The main antagonist being the church was strange. It made it too big to really fight. You aren't going to take down the whole church. I also didn't really understand the paying money to someone in the Holy Land and what was going on there. There was no Prince John which meant anyone could step into the role of villain and that really gave the movie no real direction.
