1- Robin Williams and Billy Crystal were in the same or a nearby studio, shooting some movie (probably Father's Day) 2- During a break they were walking around and just stumbled on the filming of Friends 3- The Friends director asks them if they're willing to do a cameo and they were 4- They film this with no script, completely improvised 5- They do it in one fucking take WHAT UNEQUALED LEGENDS.

Doesn't surprise me that Billy and Robin improvised so well, but also doesn't surprise me that the cast of friends could as well, I was at the taping of one of the episodes, and some of the funniest stuff was improvised and didn't end up in the edited version.
@rohnerw5 жыл бұрын
I have read, that the entire dialog for the scene, between Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, was improvised.
@mallios135 жыл бұрын
Not only that, but they actually weren't hired to do this cameo at all. They happened to be in the building while they were taping for the show and decided to drop in unannounced. They just intruded on this scene and improv'd the whole thing in one take. You can tell the cast had no idea what was going on by their uncomfortable reactions and dead set attempt at going through with the scripted scene. Neither Billy nor Robin thought the show's producers were actually going to air the scene, they figured there'd be another take and what would air would be what was planned and this bit would end up in the gag reel or something, but because they managed to improv it so well in one go and the cast didn't break character, the producers just used it.
@@mallios13 Some of the things you've stated might be true, half-true or loosely based on true events. But I'll tell you one thing for sure - this was NOT taken in one shot. There are probably over 1,000 ways I can prove this to you, and that's without even mentioning the obvious cuts throughout the scene. But instead of trying to list all that proves that this was not done in one take - I'll provide only one, because there really is no need for more than that: Pause and take a look at 1:20 and then compare that frame to 1:35, notice how Ross's newspaper is suddenly unfolded and placed in a different spot? So yeah, this might have been half improvised or whatever - but it was certainly not done in one take.

Matthew Perry is not on that list, he is funny, no question, but he's not up there with Billy Crystal, Leslie Nielsen, Jim Carrey and so on. It's like saying David Schwimmer is one of the best actors of all time, that's simply not true even though he is a very good actor. You kids really like to exaggerate everything, it's very strange. Stick to reality, it will help you in the long run.
