My senior year English class we learned about the Milgram Psychological Experiment that measured people's obedience to authority even when they knew the shocks they administered caused pain. Upon learning of it i remembered this episode because of this scene & i remembered earlier in the episode he pretended to be "Detective Milgram" as well along with his entire character in the episode revolving around the idea od "Sheep" & "Authority" One of the best episodes in the series because of Williams. I love how convincing he is, despite us knowing he's guilty he's so charming he can convince other's otherwise. My 2nd favorite moment in the episode was in court when he contested the detective's photographic evidense against him by pointing out the photo they used was digitally enhanced to which he shows the jury the photo they enhanced ehich was so blurry you couldnt make out anyone in the photo. He says something along the lines of: "Well that could be more or- it could even be Juror #4" They reply "Its not me haha" Then Robin replies very convincingly "Its not me either"

Robin Williams. The happiest clowns are the saddest people. This does a part into the deep dive of the psychology of someone who is truely depressed. You can tell in his affect, his face and his acting that he had known pain.

Never was a huge fan of this show but not to say it wasn't good. It was and this episode is just great. Robin Williams does a amzing job in this. I remember watching this episode when it first came out I was on the edge of my set. Great acting all around.

It’s always great to see Robin Williams and that he plays a character not only so different from his usual roles but also so unique in the series, but on top of that everyone on the show seemed to absolutely love him just making everyone’s day on and off set.

As someone who is suicidal, I watch this thinking "Push your own buttton" but I have to tell myself "No too many people have suffered" including myself

I never understood why writers would give us every opportunity to marvel at how smart and well planned Robin Williams’s character was, yet greatly imply, that he didn’t just simply do the smartest thing, and double back in the bushes-- but instead, he’s implied by Stabler and Benson’s finally expressions, that he opted for jumping in the water…

To be fair a lot of celebrity guests only appear once. Plus I think he found what he was looking for. Someone who would stand up, think for themselves, and not just blindly follow orders.

i think he definitely jumped in the water, hed rather take the chance of living through that than being definitely jailed for his whole life, at least if he drowns, he doesnt suffer in prison.

Holy cow, I never knew that Robin Williams played a villainous role. What a performance.

Once a famous actor from my country, mostly known for comedic roles, received a lot of praise for a dramatic role His reply "Making people cry is less difficult than making people laugh. I am convinced that tears of pain are often hidden in the tears of joy." I think this is a prime example of that, Williams was a master at breaking down people with laughter, such powerful performance was a walk in the park for him.

Who ever knew that one of the sweetest, kindhearted, and funniest people can be able to act as one of the scariest, psychotic, and homicidal person of all people. 😅 Robin Williams was truly a national treasure to us all. 😢
