The primary reason for the different sounds is that most of those cards have a plastic layer on the back of the card. Flip them over and drop them from the front facing down and you'll have a similar sound.

Robinhood says only people who pay for the first month of gold count as a refferal, unless theres a way to bypass the free trial and pay right away, which there isn’t. To get the 10 refferals on the gold card, Won’t everyone you refer have to wait 30 days to make their first payment for your refferal to count, since the first 30 days of robinhood gold are free?

the drop test is a bit silly, because it comes down to the coating. a lot of these cards are coated in plastic, because the use of metal here is a gimmick. it offers no advantages whatsoever. it only makes the card _less_ durable. they end up coating it in plastic because they don't want people complaining about oxidation and accumulation of scum. at that point, you might as well just be making a card out of plastic. that said, metal is cool, and it's the feeling you're after, so who wouldn't exchange a bit of durability for a proper metal twang and a cold feeling on the fingertips? so maybe it is fair after all. the cards that are coated in plastic should simply be made out of plastic, and consumers who have a problem with the properties of metal should apply for a plastic credit card instead. now, anyway, who's going to make a _platinum_ credit card? limited edition amex business platinum?

There's 12 months in a year, so its not $50/yr its $60/yr for Robinhood Gold

I am sure those 5k gold cards are already spoken for. How? Well Dave already got one before anyone else knew about the offering. Apparently he was told way in advance and told 10 of his Friends before the launch and I am sure 10 of those friends invited 10 of theirs. So don’t bother inviting friends as their are long gone. Me and my dad are going to get it because none of our cards give this kind of flat cash back. We've both been using robinhood for a while and can make more off our investments to basically make that $50 fee free, so this card makes sense. We plan to also just directly reinvest the cashback

I would definitely pay the $50 for 3%. I have other 2% cards. but If you spend more than 5k a year you already pay the $50 and get what you would’ve got with a 2% card. So if you spend more than that the card is a no brainer

question: I have made my ten referrals for the gold card, actually a couple more than ten where everyone is waiting for the card and not going to cancel their subscription. My question is i did this super early, so what are rhe odds I get a solid gold card? Because No one will be able to see for 30 days if they made it or not because the referral is not eligible until they pay for the next month. So I mean how can I tell if I get a card?
