I'm a fourth generation JW (now exJW for many years). It is my experience that the higher people work themselves up the ladder in Watchtower, the worse they are. They are either bad to begin with and WT gives them the means to express their wickedness/psychopathy, or they become bad over time. You can't swim in a sewer and expect to remain clean, and WT is a sewer. The most qualified individuals to be true, loving shepherds amongst the JWs are the ones that refuse to serve in an appointed position, or are roadblocked to being appointed. The worst of the worst are the ones that ultimately get into positions of power. Scum does, indeed, rise to the top in WT.

Wow. I am a 4th genner here in Toronto and my "waking up" occurred when I literally lost every member of my family within two years, leaving me all alone in the world, and shocking me into awareness. I had truly believed mom etc. would never die and the shock made me drift. It doesn't ever really leave me, as I was fully in, and a true believer. I clearly remember Leo Greenlees always giving talks at our Kingdom Hall, which was the 2nd oldest one in Toronto, and I was just a little girl. Also his name on the Circuit and District Convention programs. I was fully plugged in, but didn't hear a word about him until now, which just proves how truly secretive things were, and how hidden everything was, before the "internet era" where information could be kept quiet, without anyone knowing. I also am shocked I didn't hear more about Raymond Franz. I think I heard Br. Franz give a talk about "leaving family" to serve god, but that is all I recall. This religion destroyed my and generations of my family's life, and I only wished they would have lived long enough to see some of the shocking changes the past few years. It's unrecognizable to me now.

Any time JWs stop me to talk, I know how to end the conversation respectfully. I just say, "No religion, community, organisation, board of directors, or selected groups of individuals on this earth has the right to tell me that I am so uneducated and unlearn and can't understand what I read in any bible without the aid of some special printed publication." And as always the JWs will respond," Have a nice day, sir." I never come across any JWs, be they young or old ever stood up to me when I told them the mention above statement. 😏

thank you for this video...i must point out however that the GB does not claim infallibility or divine inspiration..they brought this out a few years ago in a WT i believe... i thought it a strange admission because claiming this means that they should not wield any authority over anyone..because for what reason should anyone believe anything they say at any given time...

am somewhat surprised that the bethel scandal involving nathan knorr did not make this video. for years nathan knorr had been adamant for celebacy among the witnesses, including himself. then, for no apparent reason, knorr decided to marry. this action created quite a stir among the witnesses. the backdrop to this seems to be a report of homosexual behavior at brooklyn bethel, at a time when only male members were assigned. the gossip was that nathan knorr was a closet homosexual himself. knorr was outraged at what he discovered, and even moreso about the gossip. so he married to quell the suspicions. knorr's wife maintained throughout her life that the marriage was never consummated. the behavior that knorr discovered reached even to bethel in canada, where the bethel branch servant was relegated to janitor. it is quite a story. but you will never find it in the proclaimers book.

Since the day I found out what those rings they are wearing, they were/are all just a club members who will hide each other’s wrongs😅I guess only Raymond had distinguish what’s right and wrong.

They don't claim to be infallible or inspired. They've been pretty clear on that. However, just because they don't claim that doesn't mean witnesses aren't supposed to treat them in accordance with those lower standards. They're not prophets (according to them) but their work is "prophet like". (If you claim to be God's spokesmen, how can you NOT claim to be a prophet?) They claim they're not inspired, but are instead "divinely directed". What, exactly, does THAT even mean? Sounds like weasel-speak to me.

So interesting! I've never been a JW, but a year ago I officially left a different cult (LDS), and the JWs have been the only ones to come visit me in my home. Super nice people. But I have not been in any hurry to leave one cult just to join another... so have been learning more about the JWs. It is so interesting to me to see how SIMILAR the JWs are to the LDS church. They are more interested in protecting their "good" name than protecting children who are being molested/raped/abused. They have been guilty of rewriting church history (the LDS since the days of Brigham Young who is the actual author of polygamy, not Joseph Smith). They teach their followers that they can never lead them astray. They have billions of dollars. They are deleting/censoring those with dissenting voices-talks and videos are scrubbed from church websites. The word Pioneer is even something they have in common. The LDS church recently changed it's visiting teaching (women) and home teaching (men) program to be called Ministering, and thy no longer have to report it. Sounds like it was much more involved to begin with for the JWs, but it appears that both churches started it as a way to keep an eye on their followers to make sure they were staying in line.... The world is FULL of cults. I believe that ALL churches are corrupt and have been infiltrated.

I was a young kid when Franz was removed and the damage control that the GB used was well done. The rank and file believed all of it. I was POMI in for years and it wasn't doctrine that bothered me (although there were some claims that were out there) but the depression that came with being a JW. I started to research child abuse to see how the big bad world blew it all out proportion and much to my surprise, I found court cases all over the world. I watched a Bethel Heavy say in court "JW's only provide a spiritual protection". I was completely blindsided by that. The rose glasses came off and the final straw was G Jackson's ARC testimony. In all the court cases what struck me was how clownish they were. We were taught they were real men with a huge responsibility and all I saw were adult brainwashed children. Religion is man made wishful thinking.

Tony Morris has always struck me as the most conservative, hard-line member of the GB. I wonder if he was removed to reduce resistance to planned movement in a more liberal direction.

It's not until one can accept that The WTB&T Society started out as a publishing business that saw the financial benefits of declaring themselves as a Religion and the associated charitable status, that one can then see that most if not all their decisions are based first and foremost on making money and protecting their assets (and associated image). Everything else is secondary and only fits if it enhances their reputation or finances. Then one can also see "The New Light" also fits in with their goals of protectionism and the illusion of being a Religion, when in fact they are a multi national business corporation masquerading as a religion. Money laundering comes to mind, under the façade of religious piety. "Nothing to see here officer" ! One example being when they removed the rule of asking for payment for their magazines and changing it to a donation (playing with words and phrases). A look at the history shows that The USA was about to pass laws to recoup taxes on such "Sales" because they were just about to rule against a famous TV Evangeliser on the same basis ! Even Almighty God had fallen angels He had to get rid of...so it's no wonder that such as these penetrated the faith. All religions have wilful hangers on...that doesn't mean the faith is bad...it's the body of people within that religion...the congregation...who are either righteous or unrighteous and comparison with Jesus Christ's accurate teaching points the finger at all irreverence. We are in the last days, and having looked at the Jehovah's Witness Faith honestly and righteously, I would say that they are closest to righteousness than any other. We will be judged according to our ability to respond to Jesus Christ's accurate teaching, and I wouldn't want to be someone who has abused that trust.

The Governing Body has never claimed to be INSPIRED. Even if they were inspired, that still wouldn't make them immune to committing sin. This happened to some of God's people in Bible times. For instance, King Solomon was a wise king who wrote over 3,000 proverbs. Yet, he didn't remain faithful to Jehovah. Near the end of his life, he turned to apostasy, and Jehovah God had to rip the kingship away from him. (1Kings 11:4, 9-11) Another example would be King Jehoash who also didn't remain faithful to Jehovah and eventually turned apostate. (2Chronicles 24:15-22) Being appointed to a high position in the organization doesn't make members immune from falling away.
