I am a big fan of both Mark Vincent and Mario Lanza. This is my favorite song of all time.

I am glad someone like Mark Vincent has a voice that reminds everyone that Lanza has a voice and other talents not too long ago. I am sure Vincent is an avid fan of the Great Mario Lanza. Keep it up Vincent!!!!❤

This is from Mark Vincent's CD called "A Tribute To Mario Lanza." He was 23 when he recorded it in 2017. He is 26 now. He first started in opera when he was 15. He's Australian. Mario's daughter, Ellisa is a vigorous supporter of Mark. Mario Lanza (1921-1959) had the voice that comes around once a century. His hero was Enrico Caruso (1873-1921). Mario was a kid from Philly. He was friends with Rocky Marciano. He had swag. Audiences went wild for him. Just a small small sampling of his songs are :1) Be My Love 2) I'll Walk With God 3) Because 4) If I Loved You 5) If. Some of his movie titles follow : 1) The Great Caruso 2) The Student Prince 3) The Midnight Kiss 4) Seranade. Elvis was a big fan of Mario. Mario's manager wanted Mario and Elvis to star together in a movie. But Colonel Parker nixed the idea. I have a biography "Mario Lanza : Tenor In Exile" by Roland L. Bessette. It's quite a read. In the early 1970s my dad and I went to a big department store. We walked near the record section (the old vinyls). He said "I suppose you want to buy an Elvis record." I replied in the affirmative. He wasn't a fan of Elvis. Dad said "If you want to hear a REAL singer, you need to listen to Mario Lanza." That's the first time I ever heard of the guy. So, in nearly the past 40 years, I have come to appreciate the vast talent of Mario Lanza. Mark Vincent is a wonderful talent in his own right, but he keeps the memory of Mario Lanza alive.

To me Mario Lanza the second guy has the most beautiful tenor voice out there. Caruso also, but recordings a bit old. Mario played The Great Caruso in the movie. His voice melts you. Today love Amira. So goes right to the heart too.

I remember my dad playing 33's and 45's on the record player during the 1970's and 80's. I was drawn to Mario's voice. To me, he may not be an opera singer like Pavarotti but Mario was Pavarotti's influence. Luciano did say that himself.

Mark Vincent has a pleasant crossover tenor voice, but nothing special, dozens of other crossover singers as good as him. Mario Lanza possessed one of the most beautiful spinto tenor voices of the last century, whether he had the discipline to pursue an operatic career we shall never know, but the voice was outstandng. Comparing Vincent with Lanza vocally ludicrous. I accept some people may prefer to listen to Vincent their choice and they are entitled to their opinion, an opinion which is subjective not objective, and not based on vocal ability.

Mate Mario Lanza like Johnny Mathis and Jackie Wilson, stands alone.Vocalists who simply defy adequate description. Lanza was perfection. I've heard wonderful tenors over the years ( Richard Tucker in particular) but Lanza had a voice kissed by the heavens. Thankfully he and Presley did not star in some Hollywood rubbish production together because in my view that would have been a come down for Lanza. Presley vocally did not belong in the same borough with Lanza let alone the same film studio. Presley was a low tier vocalist who early on in his career often copied other vocalists, aping their vocal styles and trying to add something of his own. There was nothing original about Presley. You have a good number of tribute artists who sound just like Presley and in some cases better. That says quite a bit I believe about his lack of uniqueness. As for Mario Lanza, there is no precedent for one to go by. Sure his hero was Caruso but One could argue that Lanza was perhaps more passionate than his hero. Its only today after more than 50 years we hear someone who flirts with the vocal ability of Lanza in Mark Vincent. Mark has a deeper tone but its a beautiful voice. However Lanza soars when he goes into another scale. His voice fills a room. Nonetheless this is a beautiful effort and Mr. Vincent is a truly remarkable vocalist who I have the utmost respect and regard for and Thankfully we have him to remind is what real singing should sound like.
