what could happen if roblox made robux obtainable from ads: someone creates a thing that summons bots, the bots create a random account and watch multiple ads many many times, then the bots join one of the users custom games where they buy something that can be bought multiple times. so bassically free robux. linked source scripts are basically scripts that don't need to be readded to the game to be updated. in a nutshell, it will check a url/source for an updated script. the most common example i can think of is badge giver scripts which all linked up to the same script so if they got updated, every badge giver will be updated too. tldr: it's just a script that syncs with a main script

looking at this from a perspective of someone whos been in the bming & account dealing circle, watching ads for robux/limiteds wont be a reality roblox knows that if they enable that, they'll have the exact same situation as with 2010 tixbot accounts (which for those unaware, a feature was made where you could transfer a certain amount of tix into robux, so people would mass-create roblox accounts just to farm this feature) ads for items may be a better reality, especially in the earlier days (and if it doesnt get passed over to ugc creators), but the more "cool looking" the items are, the more likely they are to have people mass creating accounts just to sell them the minute the event ends, which if roblox made a game themselves to test it out, would just be complete chaos. if this was pushed onto ugc creators & they were given full control over what ads they can show with the option of getting items after, then that'd be a fairer reality since ugc items arent really popularized though
