*The Legendary Stories of Fingerman the Noble and Flamingo the Pilgrim* *Beginning of the tribe of Ferru* (from Latin Ferrum, meaning Iron) Once upon a time, in approximately ~1000 BC in presumably modern-day Montsenelle, Gaul, there was a great and noble yet humble man, he was nicknamed “Fingerman” humorously by the Celts and his followers, perhaps due to his early and primitive bare-handed and ‘natural’ means of attacking and defending. We do not know his actual name. He either arrived to the Channel Islands by swimming directly (Flamingo’s account) or set sail along the shores of Gaul (Moon’s account), where his boat was blown by the wind and was destroyed mysteriously, he had too swim and in the process he found the Channel Islands, in which he befriended a needy yet charming and literate man named “Flamingo” presumably named after the bird, not much is known about him before this point, but we could approximate he was born in a poor Greek-Speaking Etruscan family whom later went on a long pilgrimage to the Channel Islands, in fact this journey was so important to Fingerman’s personal life that he gave Flamingo the title of pilgrim a very important term in his family tradition. *The Killing of Gaby* He needed help from Fingerman to defend from Gaby, a rude, deceitful man, and according to Fingerman’s account, was the enemy that chased him out of mainland Gaul, Fingerman later then killed Gaby (disputed claim) according to Flamingo’s diary and journal, which he made after meeting Fingerman, possibly being inspired by Fingerman’s account of events on concrete he made himself, after Flamingo taught Fingerman a family-held variation of Ancient Greek. *Killing of Moon and the Sea Creature* Later, while building a house with his pal Flamingo, a man whose name roughly translated to “Moon” asked to join with Flamingo, Flamingo inquired with Fingerman on whether if he wants to kill Moon or let him join, Fingerman decided to let him join the tribe, it was there where both Moon and Flamingo debated with each other vigorously over how Fingerman arrived, Moon later died due to unknown circumstances, many people believe he was murdered by Flamingo due to the debate, however Historians debate this. Fingerman then chased away a sea creature according to Flamingo’s account, but it was believed by Finger to be a human, Historians believe this “sea creature” was in fact a human who suffered from oxygen deprivation which turned parts of his upper body into a blueish-purple, nothing is known about this person other than the approximate date of their death. *The Journey and Findings of Flamingo* It was then when a foreigner from an unknown tribe, possibly a Gallic or a native Guernsey tribe, came on the island using a sailing boat which he traded to Fingerman for peace, Fingerman accepted this offer but then killed the tribe member most likely by the rock which was used to kill Gaby. Flamingo told Fingerman that he was going to another journey to get resources from a neighbouring island, where he snuck into a tribal city and slaughtered the farm animals, when suddenly he noticed he was being chased by a tribal peasant who was given the role of guarding the city that day, Flamingo ran to a small passageway leading to the unguarded front gates of the city, where he broke the wooden city walls to escape (disputed claim) when he got out, he was still being chased, he eventually stole a small wooden boat where he escaped, his account states that the member swam to try and out pace the boat, but failed, plausibly drowning. *Discovery of Iron* At the time of Flamingo’s arrival back to the island, they had discovered iron suprisingly with the help of a greedy and selfish man named Nugget, Nugget was named in the sense of Iron Nugget, which he presumably was the first person to find Iron ore. Not much is known about this time period during Flamingo’s trip around the neighbouring island (also known as the Second Pilgrimage of the Neighbourhood (refering to the islands as a neighbourhood)) because Nugget had accounted for the whole time with a leaf and a small piece of coal to draw on the leaf, he refused for Finger to rewrite it on concrete believing that the leaf could not be lost, the leaf later flew away Later, Nugget began demanding power from Fingerman, Flamingo decided to alibi Fingerman and confronted Nugget, Nugget told him to duel for control of the kingdom and Flamingo agreed. No duel happened in both accounts. Flamingo told Fingerman to kick out Nugget, but Fingerman at that point was already dying from hunger, and before he could he was unsuccessfully assassinated by a foreign barbarian tribe member, he was injured and immobile, the barbarian would later be killed and both bodies would be thrown into the river, later the tribe was dismantled and Flamingo decided to migrate and explore the islands, in which he found an oracle, in midst of speaking to the oracle he saw Fingerman limping across, he fell and later died due to his injuries. Their technological advancement would create untold cosequences for history, a historical revolution even, but nothing in which the history cannot explain. Edit 1: Made some adjustments to the story line and removed some repetitiveness in the story by trying to give more uniqueness to the characters. Edit 2: Gave Flamingo a literary advantage in Ancient Greek, so it makes sense that they spoke in comprehensive language. Edit 3: Added more to the story. Still yet to be finished Edit 4: Added section of the story and some more descriptiveness Edit 5: Cleanups of Text and inclusion of Nugget Edit 6: Finished the mythical story, I will start the historical section now. Edit 7: Actually finished the story now. Historically accurate version: During the time period of the 10th century BC, there was a Gallic aristocrat nicknamed Fingerman by his tribe’s members and later the Gauls and Romans, the scriptures containing his real name have long been destroyed in the Battle of the Channel Islands by the Romans who were taking an aggressive policy against the Gauls which included the Ferrus. Fingerman was born in ~1020 BC in the modern-day Montsenelle commune, he travelled to the Channel Islands by around ~1000 BC after a major succession crisis in his kingdom began. Immediately after travelling he founded the Gallic tribe of Ferru. In his early reign, he began many campaigns both violent and peaceful to unite the Channel under his rule, this was successful and he established unified law. It was accounted that after the campaigns in around ~990 BC that Fingerman discovered iron, he then was interested in the mining industry which he subsidized and began manufacturing and establishing law and order in the mines, he began trading his Iron and books about the making of Iron, causing other nearby Gallic kingdoms to learn how to make and use iron. It was later that his nobles revolted and surrounded his city in around ~980 BC, it was noted by his enemies that the city was nearly always supplied by its many mines but not food-wise. He died due to starvation, but his kingdom survived and was run by the Aristocracy. His kingdom collapsed by 50 BC after the Gallic wars.
