I think the movies budget was so small they couldn't afford to there own music the trailer so they used the terminator score .

And in fact the original Robocop score ist much more majestic and heroic...maybe the soundtrack wasnt finished when the trailer came out. Another fun: Both movies are from Orion and are about human/machine combination.

I would say Robo has the edge with his armor (Terminator isn't really bulletproof per se), but his power is limited compared to the T-850, and enough damage and exertion can drain it even faster. T-850 would just keep coming and hits like a truck

It's a good trailer, but I don't think any trailer can do justice to how awesome this flick was, is and always will be. There's so many intangible qualities in this film that are really hard to put into words. Truly one of those 'more than meets the eye' flicks. I love it.

Especially since part of what made it captivating as a kid was the fact that you didn't know how the story got from A to b. Hell you may not have even known that the cop in the beginning was RoboCop when you first watched it, so it was even more of a surprise.

I watched this film when I was a kid. And all these years I always thought the RoboCop was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. How silly I am! This is undoubtedly a Sci-Fi classic. Fantastic movie!

Robocop is one of the greatest movies EVER made!!! Anything trying to follow it was destined to fail. But Robocop 2 was good IMO. It's get a lot of crap, but it kept the feel of the original, and Robo-Cain is one of the best movie monsters in history.

I can remember begging my dad as a kid to buy me this movie as one of my friends at school had seen it and he made it sound so good I just had to watch it. The original was the best imo. No.2 was good but it got a little weird at the end. I haven't bothered watching the others. What's interesting is that looking back on the movie 30 years later, I can see a depth to it that not many realised at the time. It's very thought provoking (and in a number of ways) only most people didn't get this element to the movie at the time. There's allot more to this more than just a cyborg cop fighting crime/cleaning up the city and getting revenge.

1987 was a great year for action films . Along with this film came Predator , Lethal Weapon , Highlander The original Robo cop CGI many had been low budget but the director was fantastic and the editing was also good the way after he was shot and dying on the hospital table his last memories of his family . Also the graphic violence had some cut and now on a director cut but the film doesn't lag or gets dull as it keeps you in your chair and has humor like when he shoots a woman who held hostage and he shoots thru her dress into the guys groin was awesome . The remake was okay but on its own . Peter Weller lost so much weight in that frigin suit that they had to put a a/c unit in it for him . Yeah the 80's made action films worth watching though they were also many stinkers .

Awesome movie! i saw this in theaters when i was 5 years old with my 12 year old and 15 year old brothers and parents when i lived in St Louis and one of my favorite films since then. I even had a Robocop toy as a kid and cards even played the games even at the arcade and i remember the sunday morning cartoon as well.

The first time I watched this movie as a 12 year old, it reminded a little bit of The Six Million Dollar Man, and eventually, I found it somewhat similar to the Terminator. As an adult, this movie reminds me a little bit of the story Frankenstein on a more obvious level, but on a more subtle level, it also parallels the story of The Resurrection (of Christ) in many ways.

Watching this as child makes a real life hero today. Our society has become so vile just how they show in the film. I was so poor as kid but my mother bought the vhs and it day and night like action movies of that time. As a kid you are so innocent and dont know how cruel society is. It shows true depiction of adult themes to children. Robocop was a hero to kids and we all saw cops are good guys.

I just realized almost 23 years after watching this movie that the original trailer had Terminator sound track all over. Even though i love the robocop soundtrack . Saw this trailer on the new Unrated BluRay with many other extras. Cant believe both of the best cyborg movies were produced by the same studio! I am curious though why would they use same theme for 2 different movies?

I think I finally got around seeing the first one sometime in 1997 or 1998 in a edited for television cut, as I saw Robocop 2 first back in 1992, 1993 or 1994.

You guys are gonna laugh at this 1, but I saw it for the 1st time last night, on Nov. 17 2018, Lol. I'm 32 years old, and I've been meaning to watch it since I was a kid. But I just kept forgetting about it, and finally got around to watching it last night. It's actually bizarre that this 1 slid past me, because I grew up on movies like Terminator, The Predator, Batman & Batman Returns, etc. Had a blast watching it for the 1st time in my life last night though, Lol. I'm also a huge Twin Peaks fan, so I was really glad to see Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise & Daniel O'Herlihy all in it. And of course Kurtwood Smith that plays Red on That 70's Show. Kurtwood Smith was awesome. He was like an Insane, Ultra-Violent, R-Rated Version of Red. Can't believe it I didn't watch this masterpiece sooner. But it was a treat watching it now.

I do like the fact that they used The Terminator theme for the teaser trailer. It makes you wonder if the score was being done at the time of its release. This was an OFFICIAL trailer.

Orion (now MGM, owned by Amazon) were the legal owners of both Terminator and Robocop.

Let's hope who ever have the robocop rights should give it back Orion pictures. Why? I heard a sequel of the first movie is in the works.

Ahhh yes, good ole nostalgia is sinking in... I remember when he ran over a villain who was covered in acid and the guy literally splattered on his windshield... whew, that was mind boggling for a 10 year-old kid back then LOL.

@@pferreira1983 it's like reverse demolition man mixed with terminator. All it needs is cool theme music, witty one-liners and the rest would write itself
