Robocop is a classic side scrolling/beat & shoot 'em up game. The Amiga 500 version was loosely based from the original arcade version by Data East. This version was developed and published by Ocean Software and released in late 1989.
Plot
Patrolman Murphy was the 32nd cop to be gunned down in Detroit. The major corporation called Omni Consumer Products (OCP), who took control of the police department, saw an opportunity to sell a new kind of law enforcement officer to the troubled city.
They took what was left of Murphy and turned him into a deadly killing machine with a reinforced titanium body, an erased memory and a programmed mind. However they could not wipe out the memory of his horrific ordeal and he sets out to track down the gang
responsible.
Thoughts
I have not played this game for a long time, last time I played, I think was in 1991, a year before becoming a teenager. It was a good game at the time, got good reviews, today it is of course dated. But these were the type of games released at the time. Good memories for the getting older generation like myself.
The game was tricky at first, due to the pressing up and down for Robocop to jump, that was annoying but thankfully I got over it and surprisingly completed this game in one night. Did not take long to finish thankfully.
Glad I played it and added it onto my channel.
