The B-9 was actually created in 1965 for TV series Lost In Space...not sure why their sign says 1967

Dewey and the other little robots that were like him, would help Bruce Dern take care of the biospheres that were sent into space. I remember kind of crying at the end of that movie. -Clara from Florida

This was my favorite place to go growing up in Pittsburgh. Then I moved away and haven’t been there since. It’s nice to see you finally in Pittsburgh.

My older sister and her family live in Pittsburgh, so I’m very familiar with this Museum 🥰 the robotics section and the model trains are my two favorite parts.

Would’ve loved K9 from Dr. Who. The robots Huey, Dewey, and Louie from Silent Running were actually operated by people. The movie employed three double amputees, who were able to operate the legs of the robots with their arms. This is also why the robots all had slightly different designs, each one was individually fitted to a specific person.

Silent Running triplet maintenance robots. Huey, Dewey and Louey. All named after Donald Duck's nephews. This was a fantastic, if sad, Sci Fi movie rooted in Earth's ecological disaster.although it starred Bruce Dern, those three mini bots stole the show. They predating R2-D2, but without all the clicks, clangs and whistles. They were A.I. before the hubbub. I love me some R2-D2 , but I'd take any one of the trio over R2!

If you haven't seen the movie Silent Running, you should watch it. Bruce Dern is the main actor. Great movie. One of the best sci-fy movies ever made.

Be sure to do Carnegie Museum in Oakland for the greatest dinosaur collection in the world and Hellman Hall of Minerals gem ($$$$&&&). Lot of Pittsburgh moillionaires means lots of great museums. Also, Phipps Conservztory is a Garden of Arden! Stay kin the ‘Burgh- loving it
