There were actually lots of cut and altered scenes in this movie. For example, there was a scene that was meant to come after Ratchet knocks out Bigwell where Gasket shows up. Gasket would of came with a Dr. Robot named Dr. V-Needle. He would of preformed a lobotomy on Bigwell. He would of been voiced by Tony Jay before he passed away. This is why Bigwell starts acting wired near the end of the movie.

@Group JW Productions I made my own Robots deleted scene. Herb: What is all this? The whole town is out here. Rodney? Rodney: Dad! There's someone I want you to meet. Herb: Is that...? Rodney: That's Bigweld, Dad...the greatest robot in the world. Besides you. Bigweld: I understand you need a few parts. Herb: Well, I'm not one to complain. Bigweld: Well, then don't. I've brought enough parts to make two of you. Ladies and gentlebots....I came all this way... Would you cut that out? It's very distracting. Mic Bot: Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Cappy: (voice) Piper? Piper: Cappy? (Cappy walks out of the audience to Piper.) Piper: Cappy, I wish I knew now what I knew then. I mean, I wish you knew what I knew, I mean, before this… Fender: You're blowin' it, sis! Piper: Mind your own business, Fender! It's emotional and it's pressure! (takes a deep breath) What I'm saying is, I just... I didn't really need the spare parts for Rivet Town. Everything I bargained for was right there in front of me the whole time. Cappy: Well, what about being outmoded? Piper: I’m nothing without you. (Piper and Cappy look at each other. Fender gets between Piper and Cappy, playing with stuffed animals.) Piper: Fender, you’re not helping. Fender: Sorry. (sneaks away) Cappy: Come here, you big dumb dummy-head. (Piper and Cappy hug each other.) Bigweld: I never told you two this, but you’re the best background characters a robot ever had, come on, group hug. (The robot dog slaps Bigweld.) Bigweld: Ow! Hey, watch the paint job, will ya? Robot Dog: Oops, sorry. Force of habit. Wanna see me do it again? Bigweld: Just forget it, the moment’s already gone. Crank Casey: So, um… Piper. We’re cool, right? I mean, with the robots being fixed and Ratchet defeated… you know? Piper: Yeah, we’re cool. (everyone cheers)

Shit, the second scene is dark. Also does a better job at explaining why civilians don't rebel, despite being pretty much captured on public - these machines are literal sweepers which clean up streets and roads by day and hunt down outdated models at night or when they're separated. Moreover, only recently I understood that robots get caught by sweepers not because they're dummies like Fender but mostly because they're too rusty to run away from them.

Fun fact: this movie was made back in the 2000s (2005 to be exact because that was the year the revenge of the Sith the final installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy was made) back when the Star Wars prequel trilogy was made and one commenter made this funny comment by blacksmith’s forge:inside Obi wan’s Head while hiding from the empire

My lord, I’ve seen a whole new dimension in this. As a matter of fact, it was quite the plot hole that not all the guys had introduced themselves. In fact, Lug’s name was never mentioned in the final product.

@@kalifys2010 I believe so. Since, it was also mentioned in the Novel version, which stays true to what the Director’s Cut would’ve been like. This also applies to Spider-Man 3.

Fun Fact: According to Chris Wedge on the DVD Audio Commentary track with William Joyce, some of the shots in the “Tim the Gate Guard” sequence in the finished film had to be re-animated, to adjust Rodney’s design. #ReleaseTheChrisWedgeCut #RobotsDirectorsCut

The 'visitor' scene explains why it cuts from the Bigweld Ball to Rodney and Cappy in that helicopter-car. Although I feel like there is another deleted scene between the scene where Rodney interrupts Ratchet's presentation, and him getting kicked out via the magnet car.

There is. There’s a shot after Ratchet kicks Wonderbot out of the window. He says “Now, how do you like life in the big city, kid?” to Rodney, right before he kicks him out. It was animated by Aaron Hartline, who currently works at Pixar.

Because the themes that get tackled in the film (specifically the more deeper ones like the division of the working class system, and the corruptions of good beloved companies turning soulless and greedy) are becoming more relevant in today’s culture than ever before. Sad but true.

@@jonathanwallis3300 wont say that's the only reason, but once you become a adult and get into politics, it's hard to shake off the blatant themes. I remember watching this as a kid and loved it, but now looking at it, it's something Id expect from Marx or Dějaque. Alot of people say that they wish they could go back to when media didnt have politics. But what they forget is they were kids and werent into political, and only began to notice when they grasped politics.

The game is very good and looks almost exactly like the movie (for how old it is) and the original film DVD has a special multi-player racing game if you put it in an original Xbox (secret game mode from the main video game)!

I like how the sweeper here has one of the least intimidating designs possible. Really adds to the whole "lurking unsuspecting danger" thing. Also Diesel fighting with the... smaller robot. I don’t know, I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid.

I mean. I'm pretty sure the spare parts and even the new solid blocks of metal created by Ratchet's mom that look like pure silver were probably robots once. But then you have to consider how much metal their world really has. So in a way. If Madame Gasket didn't in a way, "recycle" the old scrap metal. I'm sure their world might've halt working.

Yeah,they esentially kill them to harvest their materials but I assume those materials are used to create new Robots among other purposes. Like The Gods of Destruction in the Dragon Ball universe destroy worlds to make room for new ones to be created,that's my best comparison

@@PelinalDidNothingWrong the problem is they actively wiping them out for being not up to high standards. Instead of taking broken parts and recycling them into new parts, they choose to take those who are deemed undesirable and create high quality parts that few can afford. It surprises me that this film and its themes doesnt get much attention. Not saying its Citizen Kane, but people complain about a same-sex kiss in a cartoon being too "left-wing", while this film deals with equality, corruption, classism, revolution snd a bunch of other ideas that are incredibly left wing, while still being a fun children's film.

The idea for Robots first came about in 2000, and then greenlit in 2001. Production would then begin in 2002 shortly after the release of Ice Age.

What Gasket was doing at the end was that this was meant to transition to another scene between Ratchet and Gasket at the Chop Shop were we would of seen what happens next to that one robot who got sweeped up. This scene would also had a musical number that involves Gasket throwing around the head of the robot who got sweeped up.

4:34: Seeing Diesel like this in the storyboard scenes makes me realise how much he actually reminds me of Spam from “Zoophobia”. They both move in similar ways, act in similarly goofy yet innocent fashions and often poke their tongues out in cute ways. And they also both getting a little too close to the ladies.

This movie is one of my favorites from Blue Sky Studios up there with Rio Horton Hears a who and the ice age movies. And yes same with some people I also still wish if Blue Sky has not Shut down I would really love to have a sequel to this movie and wish that Robin Williams have return as Fender if he had still be here with us. Robots is one of the greatest earliest Animated movie’s of the early 2000’s but still really wish we had a sequel to this movie and the Whole Cast Again included The Late Robin Williams if he’s here with us today.

This is a theory that I've had for a very long time what is Cappy is Bigweld's granddaughter I mean think about it they have somewhat similar color palettes and it would make sense why she's part of the big weld Industries Board and think about it this could actually make sense I mean one plot hole in the movie is how does Cappy know where bigweld lives I mean I know you could all argue well maybe everyone knows where he lives but that would actually make a lot of sense since they would be relatives

Why didn't Wonderbot pop out when Rodney showed him to Tim? Also, when Tim shuts the door on Rodney the 1st time at 0:54, Rodney has a different reaction to it. In the movie, he looks both confused and pissed at the same time. Here, he looks astonished.

It's amazing that in 2005 they predicted all of this stuff that Apple would do and other major companies would soon follow..... Socially manipulate the public into thinking that their devices need to be upgraded every 4 years because developers are told not to focus on code efficiency anymore but to focus on adding more features which in turn slows down the device overtime and that not having a headphone jack to sell you earbuds is socially acceptable and okay, the frog has been boiled. We have now socially accepted the fact that sayings are just not repairable anymore.....😢 We have been conditioned not to care about the longevity of our products and repairing them.... We are so far down in the deep end that no matter what people tell you about buying devices that are repairable, you're still going to buy a new iPhone because that's how people are, that's how you are, people don't change. Tim Cook can come out of the closet as a pedo and get arrested, And there will people that still by apple devices, people can tell you that they're made with unethical slave labor overseas, people can tell you that they're made with materials that clog up the world's ecosystems, but you're still going to buy it because that's what you do. The problem is that people have an option to easily buy a device actually better for this world but they choose not to.😂

You know, to be honest for the second deleted scene shown in this video what I think about the end part of it where, madam gasket basically made a creepy face. I don’t find that creepy. Honestly, I just found that kind of Weird and for the delete scene in general, I don’t really think it’s creepy to me honestly but I can see why other people find it creepy but honestly like I said, I didn’t find it that creepy and also would’ve been happy if it actually was in the actual movie because I do love dark and creepy stuff Why maybe because that I just do.
