In the 21st century, humans have become well-acquainted with not only the concept but also the practical reality of robots. In fact, robots have become a very real concern for many workers throughout the industrialized world as ever advancing technology threatens to replace them. But while we live in an age where robots are becoming commonplace, it was not too long ago that they were the subject of only myth and legend. The Sumerians, Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks and Indus Valley civilization have a multitude of accounts concerning robots and automata in general.

Here's a fun fact: The world “robot” first appeared in the play R.U.R. (1920) by Karel Čapek, whose brother Josef coined the term for a manmade worker. Robots have its etymological origin in the Slavonic word “robota”, meaning arduous work, and replaced the term for hard workers originally conceived by Čapek, “labor”.

Could a primitive worker be considered a type of robot?

Angela Merkel used the words "working units" to describe workers, in a speech she gave in November 2012. Hmm.

I would never be able to validate my suspicions scientifically, but I can’t shake the feeling ancient cultures were well acquainted with advanced machining/technology.

@@amberandrews6842 Indeed they did. Many of these out of place artifacts that are discovered all over the world show clear signs of being mechanical or being made by some technology that according to mainstream scientists couldn't have existed thousands of years ago.

Great vid. There's nothing new under the sun. All the "new" technology we use today was far beyond well known by the ancients. It was all just lost to history, we rediscovered it in modern times and then mislabeled it as new original tech.

👍🙏 Incredibly fascinated, excellent presentation, thanks very much. Probably also,Apollo was automatem ,because like Talos his heel was a weak spot,Osiris,Isis, and Horus ,they were artificially created, for all three had limbs cut off (Isis’s head even), and they did not die,the limbs were fastened back on,Gilgamesh and Enkidu, fought and defeated a giant robot (I forgot the name).👽🤖

We keep hearing warnings from those, who are people of great intelligence and vision against the development of AI. Stephen Hawking for one and yet we have AI advancing one has been made a citizen of a country and freely moved about. I truly believe that the Igigi of the Annunaki were AI. And from how the Igigi rose up against the Annunaki, we should re-examine our development of AI. * My cellphone has a mind of it's own and often, very often re-writes what I've written. Lol. Seriously 😳
