As a Polish-English sworn translator, I have to praise the person doing that translation; a much better approach than some videos I've seen where they go too directly instead of adjusting to the jokes. Like, "wiersze Miłosza - worki do kosza" joke literally would've been "Miłosz's poetry - trash bags' but making it into "Shakespeare's novels - some clean towels" is a great idea. Big props!

Woman, Katarzyna Pakosińska, *really* did GREAT job as holding her laughter, that is VERY MUCH HER MOST RECOGNISABLE FEATURE. She is laughing in pitchy, unhinged and choking-on way... That makes other feel like laughing, because of OVEREXAGERATED way, that it always sounds, too. 😂

5:20 "odpada" means "fall off" in literal way. But in that context it's that it's something you don't want. "grzybobranie odpada" means that you don't want the mushroom collecting. But because "odpada" is "falling off", the guy said that it "falls off with the walls". Unfortunately they didn't explain the joke here, because it was a pun. Also jokes aside, I've seen an art (that was kind of a parody) where someone drew a blue jay with big human male genitals. Though it was deliberately make that way to be such an absurd.

Dear Rob! If you put a phrase " KMN - obraz " You will find the first original version of this cabaret skit. Kasia laughed then. And because of her personality and smile everyone have fun too. And now her partner on scene (Mikołaj) went too far to do this again in the same part of skit( if i remember correctly from interview with Mikołaj) and he prepared a improvisations for Kasia ( bison sentence and word "sosienka") After that even Mikołaj surrender with laugh😁 All the best Rob!

That was great! This skit is nice and easy so you understood all the jokes practically 1 to 1. Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju was amazing back in the days, when Ms Kasia Pakosińska was still there (now is a totally different cabaret unfortunately....). About 20 years ago they've made kind of a series called 'Tygodnik Moralnego Niepokoju', something similar to Monty Python, pure gold! But I won't recommend you watching it as it has lots of references to Polish history, jokes etc., so it'll be very difficult to translate it properly and for you to fully understand the content, so I guess it won't be as funny for you as it is for us.

This type of going beyond the script and forcing improvisation also happens in the theater, it is called "cooking the partner/actor". The level of sense of humor varies. I heard that once, during a vodka drinking scene, someone gave the actors real vodka instead of water. ;) In any case, both of them passed the test in this cabaret and in this scene.

I don't know if anyone in the comments has already explained what "sosienka" means.. This refers to several Polish legends where there was a castle or a monastery on the hill. The people living there led a promiscuous and debauched life. One day the castle/monastery collapsed into the ground. The local residents considered it a divine punishment. In place of the ruins, a single pine tree grew. Debauchery, a single pine tree ("sosienka") next to the church... Such a hidden meaning. Perhaps there are other meanings of "sosienka". I write about what I know ;)

I was wondering if you'll watch this performance 😂 I guess they recommended it to you because of so much corpsing by Kasia 😁 In my case, I prefer another performance of the same sketch, where Kasia is actually caught off guard for the first time, when Mikołaj says that "It's scary to go to the forest". This is where she corpses for the first time. And no wonder, this is an easy line to imagine happening to make you laugh, and Kasia simply couldn't take it 🤣So in the performance you watched she was already aware of Mikołaj's trap, but she probably wasn't ready for his new traps 😅

It is interesting you find it childish, to me this piece was always quite sophisticated especially in comparison to the sketches done by group called Neonowka. This sketch very rich in jokes based on playing with language. It used language in smart playful way. Even the part referring to the 'private parts' to me never came across as childish. I would very interested how other people see it. Nevertheless i think this was pretty good translation. The piece is one of my favourite.

I masz rację - Alternatywy 4 - świetne. Chociaż to serial i tak na początek mogłoby być przydługawe dla Roba. Zresztą jak spodoba mu się "Miś to każdy film Bareji się spodoba :)
