Rob I love this video. I got a 15 second 78 Malibu. No real power, junk motor, but when I did what you mentioned to my factory 4 link the car became ET deadly, because it would 60ft the same all day long. If it 60ft's it will ET, and you can dial it HARD. That was 30 years ago, it still applies. I got 2 Chevy Monza's, the torque arm works, hope I can find the t-arm segment, I want to back half the monza's with bigger tire, but want to keep the torque arm, if possible. I'm, going to watch the video again now.

Glad you started this channel Rob. We've never been personally Introduced. But I see you alot at the track every Thursday night that I'm there. An you do help alot of people out. You seem to be a great guy. An good to see you helping out as many as you do. Im wanting to go to a 315 radial tire. Because it seems to be much faster because it dead hooks an every rotation is forward movement. But these slicks been giving us hell since we've actually put some power in the motor. Next time I see you I'll introduce myself. Wouldnt mind hearing your opinion on what you'd do to get our 60 back an ET

Joseph Lay slicks are finicky, weak, pieces of shit in my opinion. “Oh, yea, but rob, no prep” Yea to hell with that shit too. They have their place but they are so temperamental that they will not be on anything that I intend to race on a regular basis. Either way. Thanks for the support and I’ll be glad to help.

But I'd still like to go to a radial. Gonna have to throw these on an try them just see how they do. An well deff have to talk when I see Ya. Hello, great video. I understand what you are explaining here, raising the pivot point of the lower linkbto push the drive angle over the top, forcing the front end down. I feel as though I'm finally grasping "the magic" that you've been explaining. My question is, A) How does this relate to the instant center (which is short, the way you have it shown here) and how close to the front bumper do you want it, especially when talking about either bagged or regular rear suspension (if there is a difference) and B) What percentage of "relief" (20, 30, 40, 80%?) are wheelie bars supposed to give in finding the balance between squat and driving over the top to keep the front end down? My problem is that one questions answer tends to give me five more questions and I sometimes over-think the whole thing but, id rather ask too much than not enough. This is mostly 5o let you know on what track my thought train is traveling. I try to get that dancing fairy stuck to the head of the pin, it just doesn't always happen... lol Thanks for the info.

I had to get my trq box’s redone a while back because my Fox’s factory trq box’s we’re destroyed due to all the abuse. I went with the kit from wild rides racing and I haven’t had any luck yet I know the parts are great it’s me. I’m not a wealthy man by any means but I’ve managed to put together a coyote swap fox gt and my only trip to the track I managed no better than 1.7’s smh on a 26 inch drag radial. I also busted a new tko 600 so I had a bad day my only clean pass I blew the tires off leaving at 4500. So I know my pinion angle is off. I have solid uppers and lowers but that trq box kit has multiple places. I just wanna go 1.4-1.5’s with a 430hp 2700# car. Yet I’m a second away due to the sus, gear and tire.

Most of our radial cars have a 60% + nose weight. I’d say if anything it’s further forward now than it ever has been unless you have an all aluminum nitrous small block in which case you’ll be adding tons of nose weight anyway

On a four link with air bags, the angle of the top like and the angle of the bottom link (draw a line through both) should intersect at about the front bumper. This is the "instant center" and should keep the balance forward to the right point. Hope that helps.

Does this same theory apply to lower power cars running slicks? My car tries to stand on its bumper if I'm not careful. And at the same time it seems like it is wadding the sidewall like a top fuel car. This is in a 2700 pound car with a parallel 4 link, and 800-ish horsepower. 49% rear 51% nose. 99 inch wheel base. Thanks!!!
@RobD828
