Don Williams is a great balladeer of soft country. "You're my Best Friend" is a great song for couples and some easy listening country. RIP Don Williams, the "Gentle Giant"

Omg! Don Williams is unbelievably great. I am not a country music fan, but Don is an exception. I saw him 3 times. Listen to Amanda, Tulsa Time, Good Old Boys like Me. His music has been used to teach children in under developed countries to speak English. Please go down the Don road.

Don Williams was a such a humble and kind man. I lived near him back in TN when I was in High School and used to see him at the store. Just a down to earth, calm, amazing person.

Don Williams would come out onto the stage and sit down on his stool thousands of people would go quiet and listen to him. I've seen him many times and every time he was the same, a quiet crowd even when half of them were drunk. He is just that good.

My favorite Don Williams song is a ballad called "You're My Best Friend" and I highly recommend that for your reaction. I used to hear Don's records sprinkled in with all the different types of music I heard on AM radio as a kid in the 1970s. What a wonderful musical education that was because we heard all styles of music and artists on one station! Don passed away in 2017, but I finally had the privilege of seeing him in concert when he came to a local venue in 2015. I sat near Don in the second row near the end of the stage where he was seated, and he smiled at me in approval when he apparently liked the sound of my voice during the audience sing-along verse of "You're My Best Friend". I'll always cherish that moment fondly.

I wouldn't say that. Many who you wouldn't think would be fans are. I was a kid in the 70s, and EVERYBODY loved them then ... including fellow kids. A few years ago, I went to dinner with some ladies I graduated with, and on the way "I Believe in You" came on. We all sang along.

Don Williams was also an elder in the Lord’s church (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1). He went to his reward. As a boy, my father put speakers in every room. At night, he’d put Don William’s records. I cherish those nights, listening to Don.

They are the 2nd and 3rd place greatest all-time Don Williams songs, right behind this masterpiece. You will DEFINITELY LOVE "I Believe In You."

Thank you guys for this. I remember as a young kid I was riding with my dad (rip) in our old pickup. This song came on and my dad looked at me and said “Son, there is no singer in the damn world better than Don Williams”. Sorry, I just cut some onions while typing that.

Don Williams had one of the richest voices, perfect for Country Music. Growing up here in Kansas there was always a radio playing in the kitchen, or in the car if we were out and about, always tuned to 61 Country on the AM dial. I remember that when a Don Williams song came on, you either shut up or sang along. Small talk during one of his songs was a major breach of etiquette, like farting in church. More, please!!!

I’m a roofer and all those old roofers from Georgia even the Black Country Boys (old men) only listened to this old country music. So growing up in the sixties and seventies most of us listened to all rock. But I was heavy metal, old metal- Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. Let’s not forget about country music, I grew up on Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Buck Owens and George Jones. You could say we were all right there when the world of music exploded all kinds of music just blew up in the sixties,seventies, and eighties.

I am truly thankful that I grew up in the 70s and 80s. I believe the 80s were the best years for music, both country and rock. No one will ever convince me otherwise. Don was a fantastic singer and songwriter. Outstanding!

Just feel the honesty and the chords in his voice. I don't know how certain people do it, but they pull down the Lord or something, they just do it. Some artists just do it so naturally.

Don Williams has many great songs. My two favorites of his are "I Believe In You" and "Miracles". His nickname was the gentle giant. You should check out on of his live performances. He'd routinely stop singing and let the crowd perform part of the course in a song. Nothing complicated just him on stage and singing with his soothing tones. Great reaction.
