The CBS answer to ABC success Peyton Place night time soaper . CBS had the magic as far as daytime soapers at that time . I wonder if they had filmed this in movie studio instead of taping in Grand Central Station like ATWT and its other daytime soaps it would been successful . That 20th Century Fox studio Hollywood glamour sure helped Peyton Place .

I just came here to see Robert Drivas. Great actor and and an extraordinarily beautiful man. He was one of the many lost to AIDS, especially in the arts community.

I've been curious about this show for a long time. So thrilled that I came across it. Bummer, if it's true that this the only episode out there, that Eileen Fulton didn't even appear in this episode. Hopefully there other episodes out there somewhere. I did recognize the wonderful Millette Alexander who would later go on to a more successful run on Guiding Light as Dr. Sarah McIntyre, who also played the mother to a then unknown Kevin Bacon.

I guess CBS tried this spin off of ATWT at night because it was in its long run as the number one daytime program in all daytime , including game , variety, network reruns of nighttime shows . or other soaps . I believe it was the top soap to the mid 1970s .

I wonder how many Rambler Marlins there are left in the world. It was a very distinctive vehicle.

I remember this being a big break for Eileen Fulton, the Susan Lucci of her day.

One of the Producers is Allen Potter who may have thought of David O for his role of Steve Aldrich a couple years later on The Doctors.

Wow. I never thought I would get to see this. Thank you. I was only a year old in 1965. Such a rare find. But sadly Eileen Fulton wasn't even in this episode. I was a huge fan of As The World Turns. Not to many actors that I recognized except for Nicholas Coster and the lovely Milette Alexander who had a successful run on Guiding Light. I looked up Robert Drivas. Not familiar with his work, but yes sad that he died so young. Very handsome back in the day I might add. Was he gay? As a gay man myself, I'm asking out of curiosity.

I recognize Sandra Smith; she starred in a short-lived medical drama for CBS called "The Interns", but she's probably best known for her guest appearance in the original "Star Trek" 's final episode.

It's unclear to me whether this was taped or aired live like "As the World Turns" was in 1965.

Millette Alexander went on to make an impression as The Edge of Night's Laura and Julie Hillyer. Actress Sandra Smith might have made a suitable, more experienced replacement (instead of Jayne Bentzen) for EON's Maeve McGuire as Nicole Drake.

This was CBS' effort to duplicate a prime-time soap as ABC did with 'Peyton Place'. It was a short-lived effort and Eileen Fulton was the first daytime star to actually appear on prime time TV.

Does anyone know what day of the week this aired and what time? Was it on every week night? Kudos to CBS for trying something somewhat different.

Interesting show and would love to see more but I can understand why it failed. It feels like a daytime soap on at nighttime. I think it was CBS answer to Peyton Place but PP had a movie star and really exciting actors and scripts. This just feel like they hired soap actors and put the show on a night accidentally however I really liked it and would loved to have seen it on daytime. It probably would have lasted much longer.

Scrolling for more ads, I heard the name "Thomas Hughes" just before the break, and wondered if they deliberately invoked the famous author, or just picked a name that's probably common. Anyway, the ad is hilarious for its subtle-yeah-not-subtle look at 15:17 -- "I think my friend thinks I stink." And who folds and soaps up a towel like that? Doesn't she have any smaller washcloths? Maybe as stinky as she is, she needs that big a washcloth, never mind the soap!

Sandy is a young attractive bird here. Years later she forcibly swapped bodies with Cap'n Kirk and then tried to take over starfleet command.

Anybody catch the boom mike making a quick retreat at 24:01? On a prime time network broadcast, even one with a thrice weekly schedule, that’s pretty bad. Stop tape and reshoot. All relevant today to absolutely nothing...
