You are amazing, Robyn! I posted this comment on a much older video of yours, but you and i were teaching cold wax and oil workshops in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, at the same time in 2017. Because my name is Robyn also, and we were publicizing our classes at the same time, many people got us confused. I am so happy to have finally found you and i am binging on all your videos. I am ready to explore other media besides encaustic and cold wax/oil. Your generosity, dedication and openness make you an incredibly accessible teacher. Kudos to you!

What synchronicity! Yes I remember those classes I love San Miguel and have a number of artist friends there! Do you live there? I’m so glad you found me and have joined in the community ❣️. I think you’ll really enjoy some of my Gelli printing techniques as they incorporate lots of traditional print making concepts and the layer and texture of encaustics 😊. I even have used oil paints on the Gelli plate with stunning results...please stay in touch and Welcome 💫✨♥️

@@RobynMcClendon I'm sure we have a couple of artist friends in common.....Jane Dill is probably one of them. She took one of my workshops and then introduced me to Galeria San Francisco. I was asked to join their gallery as an exhibiting and teaching artist and had a wonderful 2 years there....2018 and 2019. Last year hubby and I got caught in SoCal when Covid hit and we've been here ever since. I plan to return to SMA very very soon!

Watching this video made me realise how far I have come since I first started following you Robyn. A lot of these techniques are now a regular part of my repertoire and I script intuitively with much confidence. Mine looks different to yours as would be expected. Coffee stains on 100% coton sheets of paper ( 300 gr/ m) is rally wounderful. Thank you, dear Robyn.. Now I am totally adict. Sorry for not having beeing present theese last few weeks. I first learned of Outsider Art when I stumbled across a Purvis Young painting in a thrift store. I fell in love with it. Unfortunately it was stolen from me. Outsider Art is my favourite art. It is pure creativity. I also love art by children.

Fabulous! Yummy indeed! I love how the gesso and texture pastes act as a resist, as does the acrylic from the gel printing. I've been wanting to learn how to stain with coffee and the spray idea is genius. Also adding the alcohol to stop it going bad - I'd never have thought of that. I am going to have So Much Fun with this!! I keep all my scratch papers which I try to organise into different colour schemes so I don't end up with mud. They build up gradually until I've got good coverage.

I found a stack of gelli prints I made ages ago that all came out too dark. I didn't throw them away, and now I'm so glad I didn't. I love the white gesso you put on, will be a wonderful contrast

Hi Robyn, I just wanted to respond to your last week's session, where you share your dreams for a future garden and teaching facility. My husband and I live in Whetstone AZ, not far from you. I surmised this from the landscape in which Grandma Saquaro reigns. We moved here from WA state where we had organic gardens for many years. Gardening in our Az landscape is VERY different! Instead of a Greenhouse, you will probably really want to build a Screen-house. (Unless you can afford both) Anyways, I've spent over four years trying to keep the birds, rabbits, and javelinas from eating/destroying everything I plant, a never ending job! Almost everything you grow needs to be caged which takes some real creative ideas. This year we decided to build a Screen house to make my life soooo much easier. A screen-house is basically a large enclosure made of wire fencing which has a small enough weave to keep out the birds, rabbits, and other garden pests. The roof must be enclosed as well. If you are interested, my husband, Matt, is just getting started with our screen house and will be demonstrating how he builds it on his KZfaq channel, called, "Matt the scrap whisperer." When it's done you are welcome to come and see it. By the way I love your youtube channel and never miss seeing each week's project. Thanks for all that you share. Nancy Stewart. Loved this session. You are amazing. I cannot throw out anything so this is perfect for me. I just finished sharing the lesson in the week with the black board collage, 16?, with a friend. We were so touched by how we felt after doing the writing part on the "blackboard". It was heart felt for both of us and I was taken back. And of course want to do it again. Blessings.

That was a good way to use prints that don’t make the cut. I like going from the reject pile to the top of the use pile.

This was such a good session (they're all good, but some of them are *extra* good!) that halfway through, I just had to grab some supplies and play along! My gelli print duds are different from yours, so the results will of course be different, but I'm excited to see how some of these techniques play out with mine.

I've had major photo copier issues in the last couple of years as they just quit working. The last one I bought (a Brother the same as Nik the Booksmith) says it has a paper jam (which it doesn't!) and won't work now after less than a year! Ink is so expensive too! Can you recommend a good workhorse copier that you trust? I know you use a copier a lot! Also, I find if I put the coffee in a sprayer that the sprayer gets all gummed up after a month (and I did put Isopropohol in it) or so and quits working! Do you rinse yours after use? You say a few dollars but it's not possible to find anything for a dollar in the 'Dollar' stores up here in Canada. It's more like the Five Dollar store here! Nothing, absolutely nothing, is cheap here anymore! Thank you for all you and your team do! You are the most inspiration I have found for FREE on the internet!! I love you and love your style and attitude! It keeps me going when I don't want to go any more in life!

Lol oh I have a name! lol I'm an outsider alright! Good lord, I didn't take Any art classes in High School,my last art class wad in 7th grade. I drifted to Photagraphy in High School,.I was off to the races then. After the house was robbed and all my photography equipment was stolen. We had just moved in and had no renters insurance, so that was the end of that. I littered around with needlepoint, cross stitch, embroidery, even taught classes. About 10 years ago I started teaching myself how to watercolor, All well and good until 8 years ago.When I had my stroke,of course it hit my dominant left side! !#&%* Isn't life strange?! So I'm doing everything right handed, and it's getting real tired of the left hand being on " vacation" yet! Not much encouragement from my kids. It's just a bump in the road. I'll do my best.😇 oh my coffee dying paper is a hoot! I was outside yesterday with my dish pan, spray bottle and instant coffee. I probably would have hung up my sheets of paper like a clothes line.had I planned ahead. So I layer them on the table and hoped we'd get a breeze to help with the drying process. I all came out great when I retrieved it after dinner. 😎 I might do some the next time it rains.let the paper get soggy then spray it with tea or coffee and let it dry. I still don't have my space in my room set up to work yet. Next week! Lol THANKS.ROBYN for all you do for us! Kim

Hi Robin. I just want to tell you how much I love your artwork, especially your gel prints. I have a question regarding gel plates. I just watched one of your videos where you stated you live in Arizona. I do too. My plate dries out so fast I have a difficult time getting decent prints. How do you work around that issue? Does anybody know whether baby wipes are biodegradable? I heard they were not, so I never use them, but I could be wrong.

There are some brands that are but you have to search for them. Me and my daughter stand in the isle at the store reading the packages they don’t make it easy to figure out! Lol. However you can use fabrics I do use old linen and cotton sheets and table cloths for this technique which are beautiful to use back in my other book projects. That is why I repurpose them vs throwing them away Thx for hanging out with me 😊

Yes absolutely my fav fabrics are worn sheets old linen table cloths and napkins preferably unsized or unwaxed fabrics work best. Hitting the thrift store for a large old line table cloth yields lots of fabric and the linen is a dream to work with! Xo 🥰
