Big Rocc is a long Beach gem; his articulation is phenomenal, and his ability to retain history is superb. History serves as medicine for the sick-minded by enriching the knowledge of individuals lacking awareness of the importance of substantive conversation. Let's refrain from glorifying gang culture. Instead, let's strive to create a community with creative dialogues that foster upward mobility within black culture in Los Angeles, Watts, Compton, Long Beach, Carson, Lynwood, Gardena, Oakland, San Diego, as well as in New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Texas, and across all regions.

One of the main things i liked about this interview is Big Rocc’s articulation and knowledge of LB history. I crossed paths with Big Willie and Lil Willie in the system. I would love to hear their story on this platform. Real LB factors. Beautiful work Mel. always tapping in. Lock Da Door!!!

Good interview. Check out 100 years of Black Long Beach Volumes 1 and 2 by Indira Hale and Aaron Day. The East side of Long Beach which they are calling Cambodia town now was/is Historical Black Long Beach. The Racial Housing pacts made sure that Black Folks could not live in any other places. Grant AME on Orange and the Grant Baptist Church in LA were related from that original group that ventured from St. Louis. Check out the book in the Library. I lived 30 years in Long Beach and born and raised in Compton.

No, There was never a gang in Long Beach called the Insane Paybacc Crips..It was called Paybacc Crips and they came out in 1975, Rollin 20 Hustlers came out in 1976, and Insane Crips came out in 1977.
