Video resumen de una serie de 14 vídeos, en la que construyo desde cero un motor a gasolina boxer de 2 cilindros. Hoy finalizamos nuestro motor Boxer. Y lo hacemos a lo grande. Este ha sido un proyecto magnifico, con muchos dolores de cabeza pero un resultado final espectacular... Datos del motor: Motor Bóxer 4 tiempos, ciclo otto, 2 cilindros, 12,56cc, funcionamiento a gasolina o combustible glow.

Whoever taught this guy must be very proud. I moved from impressed to awestruck early on (when he machined the crank) and it just gets better and better. Loved the satisfying sound of perfectly machined parts clicking together and the minimal soundtrack is perfect. There is room for artistry in engineering and it is on full display here, well done.

@@CameronMcCreary no it doesn't run , it starts with the intake of the carburettor open to th max but he can't accelerate the engine , he says is a problem of design, he miscalculated the admission of air to the cylinders from the carburetor, basically the engine struggles for air to make a good combustion , it has no power nor acceleration, it just starts and is off after some time. He says he is self taught.

Yeah, that's like $15,000 worth of labor right there (at least)... and the parts were $13.26. lol. (If I had a machine shop, I'd be doing pretty much the same thing. (edit: it would probably take me 700 days though).

J'ai 60 ans et à la retraite. J'ai travaillé comme machiniste et opérateur N/C pendant 30 ans et cela me rappelle de bons souvenirs. Les gens n'ayant jamais fait ce métier ne peuvent comprendre le niveau que cela demande sur pleins d'aspects. Beau travail et j'aurais bien aimé avoir ton matériel chez moi pour m'amuser aussi.

After watching a bit i did skip ahead to the assembly portion.. i'd like to apologize but my time was limited and i really wanted to see the building and running more than the fabrication though i will make an effort to come watch it again all the way through at a later time.. Kudos on this achievement and thank you for posting it for us to watch and maybe learn from. only critic even when edge finding you should be wearing safety glasses.. things do break nothing man made is perfect nor should it be presumed to be in "perfect working order" even if brand new.. stay safe stay sane. keep on tinkering!

Lo único que se me ocurre decir es “El discípulo supera al maestro”, para quienes miráis estos tipos de trabajos sabéis a quien me refiero. Como técnico audiovisual es que está hasta bien rodado y editado. Qué maravilla de trabajo chaval, la RAE cuando creó las palabras Obsesión y Perfeccionista está claro que estaba viendo tu foto. Felicitarte es poco, mereces un premio a tus virtudes, estudió, conocimiento, voluntad e inteligencia. Espero que te lluevan los menores contratos y patentes tus diseños para que algún fabricante Los reproduzca a gran escala. Y se me ocurre que podrías adelantarte a ésta generación e inventes y produzcas un motor eléctrico mejor y de rendimiento superior a los actuales.

Hi gran trabajo, permíteme que te dé un consejo basado en mi experiencia.Cuidado con los wobblers ( Edge finder) ese modelo que tienes tú la parte de abajo tiende a separarse de la parte de arriba a alta velocidad , y el muelle de dentro se convierte en un trozo de cuerda de piano que por unas cuantas vueltas sigue enganchado a la parte de arriba que sigue en el portabrocas , y la parte de abajo que en el momento de separarse va a más de 100mts por segundo , el trozo de cuerda de piano cortará todo lo blando que se encuentra a su paso , carne humana por ejemplo. Para que no ocurra esto , se corta un trozo de material de 2.5 mm de diámetro y unos 35-40 mm de largo( yo utilizo Tig filler rod. Este trozo de material se mete dentro del muelle que lleva dentro el wobbler, y no deja que la parte de abajo se desplace más de 3 mm. Un abrazo Mariano

I'm in my 60s now but as a teenager I found myself between jobs so decided to learn something new so I enrolled on a bench fitting course with miscellaneous machine work, lathes, vertical boring, milling machines, planers etc and I learned quickly as my instructor was a next level engineer and a great passer on of knowledge, I found it extremely immersing and interesting and totally absorbing, I did try to find work in that field but the certification I acquired was at the time not recognised by employers, it is now and is city and guilds approved, it is extremely rewarding work, working to high tolerances and exacting finishes, I loved it, your work is exceptional, good man, QUESTION . .is the rough running and poor starting due to fuel starvation, Does it need a larger bore carburettor, an extra 2-3 mm on the diameter

I'm sorry but I don't speak your language I am a retired journeyman machinist with 45+ years have made parts for everything from medical robotics to the b2 thru to the space shuttle space station ect,ect and you are one of the best I've seen on KZfaq you have great pride in your profession thank you now teach don't let it die with you

Build a two-stroke next. It could be used in an RC model plane. This work of art is limited having a valve train, not enough RPM's which you would get with a 2 stroke. Truly incredible work, Bravo !

Que video!!! Que talento! Si olemente increíble que una sola persona sea capaz de hacer este obra de ingeniería y arte. Que video tan lindo. Creo que lo de menos halla sido el problema del carburador. Todo el tiempo estuve impresionado con cuántos cálculos, cuánta presicion y cuantos procesos podían haber fallado. Este video es uno de los mejores DIY que he visto en todo KZfaq. Gracias por compartirnos este projecto!!!

Походу раньше было популярно,вот так же дома , делать всякие механические заводные штуки и станки необходимые для изготовления всех этих шестерёнок , тоже были в обиходе,конечно не каждый мог себе их позволить в принципе как и сейчас,но все эти знания намеренно утеряны и сейчас не могут даже разобраться в этих механизмах чтобы восстановить.
