A quick video of me shooting the RIA VRF14 12ga. Tried a few different shells. This thing is a blast!

From watching other people shooting these, I’d say the chainsaw grip is a good addition. Looks like it makes the gun significantly more manageable.

You have to swap out the spring for the lighter loads, if not, it will misfire. I just bought one but will only be shooting Turkey loads, 00 Buck and slugs to avoid that issue or from having to swap out springs. For hip-shooting, your better off just shooting a pistol grip pump action like the Mossberg 590 Shockwave. Put Turkey loads in that drum and watch it dump them all...

Lock the bolt back for a month it will weaken the spring enough for the lighter loads
@totalrecall2267
@totalrecall2267 Жыл бұрын
@tygur23 Not true. As an engineering student I can tell you that a constant retention of a spring does not weaken it, but it is the repetitive motion of compression and release that wears a spring. That's why it is OK to leave a magazine loaded.
@tygur23
@tygur23 Жыл бұрын
@@totalrecall2267 thats weird its worked for 5 of our VR80 and if you do some research its working for thousands of other people. And also alot of Drum manufacturers recommend not keeping drum magazines loaded because of spring weakening. You might wanna get a refund on your education 🤔
@totalrecall2267
@totalrecall2267 Жыл бұрын
@tygur23 LOL, I was being polite by saying "engineering student" because I've found that when someone says they're an engineer in an internet comment section others will assume they're not telling the truth, in fact I've been an industrial manufacturing engineer for 30 years. The idiot suggesting not leaving the drum loaded because spring wear doesn't know Jack Shit, maybe you should look to a better source such as Glock, Sig, etc...repeated action is what softens steel springs not a state of compression. Are your springs on your truck wearing out now as it sits in the lot, no, only through use....as for as your, "5," I believe it was, VR80's? Wow, could've made better use of that money...anyway, correlation does not imply causation, your gun, if you have one, likely became "broke in" over a period of use. Cheers!

I have this gun VRF14 I absolutely hate it! LOL I even put a brace on it and it just does not feel right. so far I can only put 1300 velocity or higher shells in it to cycle. When it comes to short firearms I prefer the Mossberg 590s Shockwave, the Mossberg you can always get a kit to shoot mini shells which I think is best for firearms without a stock, get the crimson saddle laser. and you are good to go.

@@tracksidetactical7096 Perhaps try just holding the gun via the foregrip - with the chainsaw grip still on the gun - before outright removing the chainsaw grip. If the drum still fails to feed then you wouldn't have to waste time & effort removing the chainsaw grip for nothing (especially since it looks so cool) and you could keep the chainsaw grip and just use the drum for non-defensive / non-critical situations.
