Thanks to ‪@kaifuaudio‬ and ‪@Headhunterzofficial‬ to figure this out inside of the ‪@bitwig‬ Grid. Create easy and good sounding kick drums where the tail aligns very well with your bass sound. It's basically the KickDrum • This new Plugin is cra... plugin but in Bitwig. Preset: bit.ly/3JeGE6k

I wish I could find a Bitwig video series about building every kind of drum. Snares, claps, toms, sticks, crashes, hats, rides, even cowbells! I tried searching but not much luck. I've been just making them myself but my knowledge is limited to my own biases of how you are supposed to design those drums. This video reminds me there are better ways.

the more you fck around the more you find out. there are unlimited ways of creating sounds and they all have pro and cons.

Check out Astrobear Music here on YT. He's got a few videos where he models drums and such. "808 kick drums are like rainbows" "How to make TR 606 High Hat in Phase Plant" among others you can find on his channel. He's a cool dude and a very capable presenter. I've been interested in the same thing recently and was lucky enough to stumble on his stuff!

You can feed the "bend" AD with the constant instead of an explicit multiplication it's the same :)

Thanks for sharing this tutorial and preset. Bookmarking as I'm still very new to Bitwig and the Grid. Is the kick meant to change phase/pitch to match a bassline dynamically? Or am I missing the point?

Man, i don't get it! How can modulating the phase do the job, what ususally modulating pitch/frequency does? Phase is where "you are" on the sinewave, amplitude is how loud it gets and frequency is how many repeats you have to match a certain pitch. On the meter the distance should get longer between the amplitudes, but it stays constant, while the sound gets deeper. As i said..... 🤪

What happens when you change positions where you are on the Sinewave, while you play the sinewave? It’s like a traffic jam. The sine gets squeezed together. What happens when the distance between zero crossings decrease? Yes the pitch goes up. That’s what happens here. If the phase input is zero the sine goes back to its initial phase position which is utilised here. 👌🏼

Negative so the phase don't go "backward" and 10 because it's sound good you can use any value you like :)

Nice video.....but could I make a really important suggestion. Could you give your video proper titles. Its almost impossible to find your videos after the fact since you don't label them properly and searching your content it not easy. You have so much great content and it would finding old stuff would be a huge help to the community

He usually has good info in the description which is also part of the search. He could title it mama's chicken soup and you would still find it
