The guy in the music video is John Safran, an Australian satirist/comedian. DJ Shadow is a pretty legendary guy in hip hop, endtroducing is a fantastic album. There's a lot of black hot soup in the remix if you know what to listen for, but he made the song his own for sure. The next two tracks should definitely be done back to back, they're two halves of a whole

The guy in the hood with the funny smile is supposed to be the same guy from the Gamma knife music video I think (holding the knifes in the circle chanting "GAMMA")

Dj shadow is fantastic. I would definitely recommend Float Along Fill Your Lungs for the next album.

Butterfly 3000 started off as a Polygondwanaland pt 2 before they decided to change direction. “Black Hot Soup” and “Blue Morpho” sound the most like Poly to me, especially the outro of this song!

I agree, Black Hot Soup Remix is cool but I don’t hear any of the original song in it other than the Woos. It’s more like his own song with a few Black Hot Soup samples here and there

This is one of my favorite songs on the album, but it doesn't sound like anything else on B3K. It's like a poppier Polygondwanaland, the synths are kind of in the background, and theres a heavier section toward the end. Its an interesting track, but it does kimda seem like they forgot what album they were making for a bit. For DJ Shadow's re-write, this is actually my first time hearing it in full. I did hear a snippet of it after hearing Rattlesnake a few dozen times and wondering if the rest of their stuff sounded like that, which is obviously not the case. I do agree that it soundsike a completely different song, but the instrumentation does kind of sound like King Gizz. Bass has their signature tone, the drums kinda sound like their more lofi stuff, and of course Stu's singing. Other thsn that, completely different. Next up is Ya Love, which some people think is just kind of annoying, and I thought it sounded _too_ happy when I first heard it (which is weird since I usually don't think that about songs). The instrumental was written by Cookie though, thats something! And if you do the title track in the same video, I'll also say that its a good way to end the album, althiugh kinda short. Just glad they started and ended the album with an epilepsy warning. And since we're getting around that time, my vote for next album goes to Float Along - Fill Your Lungs. Its the heaviest album of theirs that you haven't heard, but its not metal, since you've already heard all of their metal stuff. Its more of a psychedelic garage rock album.

9:55 you been paying attention to the Europe shows? They’ve been debuting a ton of material from an upcoming new album, very 70’s boogie rock.

you should definitely do the last two tracks of this album at the same time, like Candles/The Funeral and Exploding Suns/Short Change they like doing that apparently lmaoo

this is one of my fav tracks from Butterfly 3000. it’s pretty much a tie between this, Blue Morpho, and Interior People… I think

I think the next one is neat but the outro is where it's at. A gorgeous song that nobody ever talks about somehow

I like the remix but you're right, they are different songs entirely. You could check Butterfly 3001 off camera to see if there is any other remix you like, but I think this one is clearly the best.

I honestly think I prefer the remix to the original 👀 but then again I knew DJ Shadow before Gizz. The outro of Black Hot Soup gives me vague Murder of the Universe vibes, anyone else? Also you're not alone with scratchin with your zipper 😂

Not the easiest catch, but part of the bassline in the outro is also in a quiet section in Gaia

I think I have to agree, black hot soup doesn’t stand out, wouldn’t skip to it, but I wouldn’t really skip it either. Excited for butterfly 3000 next time

13:43 the bodyguard at the right is Sam, THE "Boogieman Sam" hahahaha It's best for Ya Love and Butterfly 3000 to be heard together, the last one is kinda like an outro for the full album

Not true, that's John Dimoulas (who's also in Magenta Mountain as the security guy). Sam Joseph (their sound guy) is Boogieman Sam.
WHAT’S THAT?
