aww Besides Takeoff and Landing, the Engine Start-Up is one of my favourite things about flying! Gives me chills everytime when the Packs go off and you can feel and hear those Engins on the A320/21 spooling up! Great Video!

My first take off was in an RAF Avro Anson - fabric covered wings and fuselage with Armstong Siddely Cheetah !X engines - now that was exciting!

Darn pilot went from 80 knots straight to VR rotate, those guys were heavy on the thottles. I don't even recall them powering back lol...those over speed bells must of been blaring even the flight attendants went straight to the juice and coffee which in seconds....amazing !

I was the senior qa manager for testing the load and balance software for many airlines and an aircraft like this can burn many 100s o KGs navigating the taxi ways before take off. We used to have to account for that in our calculations.

On the long taxi time (and yes, some could have been left out). The plane starts around Gate 809 which is in the southwestern corner of the airport. At first it goes west, then north. At 7:10 you see it making a right turn, and just in front of the wing you see the END of runway 25 which is the runway it's actually going to take off from. It backtracks the entire length of that runway -- 3.3 km -- until 13:30 when it reaches the START of the runway when it pulls up next to the US Airways A330. That is at the eastern edge of Fiumicino. That's just the the layout of Rome's airport. Good quality picture and sound? Definitely. Interesting to see 10 minutes of uneventful taxiing? Nah.
