6:07 that information is incorrect. Sally never showed up in IDW. Those images were from the 2013 run of Archie. Both were written by the same guy but two different universes.

@@TronicSSJ07 I feel like they could reintroduce the freedom fighters back into canon. Just have Sally’s kingdom away from Green Hill and establish some past history with Sonic. The reason she wasn’t in forces is because she was protecting her specific kingdom. Call it Mobotropolis or something like that.

In the comics he has more chemistry and even kids with Sally while in the games Amy is probably the only contender (aside from Elise) who is in a possible secret relationship with Sonic in Sonic Boom with the amount of times Sonic getting nervous when he is asked about dating Amy

Forgot to mention that at the end of the Sonic and the Black Knight credits it's revealed that cause of the events of the game Sonic missed his date with Amy. Also, Sally was never in the IDW comics.

im a pretty big sonadow freak but even then in reality i cant see sonic with anybody . it just feels like friendship is much more important to sonic as a person and as a franchise. i think frontiers has tried to like make amy much better as a character and more seeming like a love interest but i really doubt anything will ever go through which i honestly think is for the better

Plus, Sega made it cannon in the series because Amy is actually short for Amelia. But Amy is also it's own separate name as well which has a bunch of different spellings for it. (Amy, Ami, Amie, Amiee, Aimee, etc)

@@Micktrap397 So True! Seeing him flirt with girls ever once in awhile is okay; I mean he doesn't deny he likes girls. Though I'm very relived Sega decided long ago that he didn't need a relationship to tie him down because he is adventurer at heart. He's a video game character and doesn't need to be married like you said. I wouldn't wanted any other way. That's one of the many things I like about Sonic is the fact that he goes to diffrent places whether he's stopping trouble or relaxing. I always since forever wanted to travel all over the world; to try the many different foods and regional activities. I learned at a young age Sonic's life is fun.

There's a song in sonic adventure 2 for one of knuckle's stages. The lyrics of the song say: "Rouge? Yeah, she's sexy and smooth. I'm feeling her in mysterious ways." While this isn't knuckle's dialogue, his songs function as a way of expressing knuckle's thoughts. And they had a playful interaction in sonic heros. These are the only 2 instances where they both like each other and their feelings are still there. Rouge used to flirt with knuckles alot, but knuckles normally hates rouge and has no feelings for her anymore it seems. For rouge and shadow, I feel shadow doesn't see rouge that way. I think rouge might possibly have a little crush on shadow.....possibly. Sonic heros, if you use your camera to look around, she winks at you.

I somehow find myself rooting for Amy despite her antics. As the franchise has gone on it’s clear it’s not a crush anymore which I like more. As much as Sonic denies it we all know he likes her back. If he ever slows down (which I’ll die before he does) Amy will be right there.

I'll say Best Sonic love interest is both Amy and Sally. Sally had alot more going for her in the comic I feel cause of how important she was so I can see alot liking Sally more cause we get to see the writing more often in the comic rather than games, but some writers also messed that up by making her constantly be with someone else instead. While Amy is the first who felt like they intentionally made her for that in the game and might be even closer to Sonic in terms of design, and she even had some growth to make us like her more but then other writers wrote her off as if that growth never happened. Both have ups and down, lol XD

Plus I did said alot of writers seem to forget the growth Amy went through so wrote her as if that never happened which is where stalker comes in. Yes he is. In Sonic X they are official couple that has several hints in Season 3 like sonic stops running away from Amy and blushes when he sees her in episode 54. The same happened in the games but much slower. He agrees to date her in Sonic Unleashed thats will be ruined thanks to the events of sonic and the black knight. They even date in the Sonic Channel's wallpaper story. And more recently they hinted how Sonic feels towards Amy in Sonic Frontiers. They even hug subtle after the Super Sonic fight. Also he calls her the sweetest person he knows in Sonic Prime. IDW also ships them and secretly trying to put romantic one panels.( secretly because Sega mandates exist) Same goes for his "sugar plum" in Sonic Boom etc

I hate to be mean but you really don't know anything about Sonic. 1. Amy was Sonic's girl friend in the 1990's Sonic manga. 2. You used a photo of Sally Acorn from Fleetway which is a completely different character. 3. Sally did not get married to Antoine, it was someone impersonating him to try to take control of the throne. Lastly Sally is not in the IDW comics and that was not a pic of the IDW comics. I'm fine with people trying to get into Sonic and I get that with the new games, cartoons and movies a lot of new people are going to show up but please look into this before talking about it. There are tons of documentaries on Sonic. I would say watch one on the games, the Archie comics, the Fleetway comics and the IDW comics for start. This video is going to misinform people and only makes you look bad.

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but I don’t think the freedom fighters are coming back. They’ve had a resistance/restoration program built more than six months before Frontiers even happens in canon. That was the perfect opportunity to reintroduce them, but they didn’t. I mean there are cataclysmic events happening in Sonic’s world all the time so there’s a possibility. I wouldn’t get my hopes up .

He had Pauline in the early 1980s, Princess Daisy in the 1990s which it is unfortunate that very little people support Maraisy and this is coming from a Luaisy shipper. And Princess Peach from the late 1980s - 2010s via the infamous Super Mario Odyssey cutscene. Pretty sick game, otherwise, but Super Mario Bros Wonder knocks it out of the part for so many reasons including a healthier relationship with Mario and Peach even after they broke up because this time, Peach is going on the heroic adventures Mario’s went on every single time). Let me guess… it’ll start off by saying Mario is a player (but what’s worse? Hmm… seems you missed 2 of sonics girlfriends from the Archie comic, such as Fiona fox (shown here at 13:43) and Mina mongoose. There’s also Lah, the ghost girl in sonic unleashed night of the warehog animation. This is a neat video overall but it has quite a few inconsistencies, such as saying sally was in the IDW comics when the IDW comics only follow game canon, or the lack there of knowledge of the comics.

Just a bit of a correction. Sally appeared in the rebooted archie comics, not in the Idw comics, although a lot of the team from the rebooted archie comics ended up carrying over too the idw comics. All of this stuff is really confusing if you aren't into the comics, so I understand the confusion!

I feel like one of the main reasons Sonic isn't interested in Amy is because she is technically too young to be in a relationship with him and she obsesses over him too much, if you don't belive me consider the fact that sonic is willing to go out with any other girl besides her, elise, sally, breezie and madonna

@@masterreece1098 Again, a three year difference. Another thing is I’m guessing the overall growth she’s had since her return to the series in Sonic Adventure is just gonna be sidelined? She’s grown far more as a character since her inception. Sonic definitely values her far more than what you’re thinking. Out of the interactions they’ve had, what other character can literally embarrass or make Sonic shy the way that she does? She’s able to deepen his character, which is a good thing to see. He runs away not because he doesn’t like her, he runs away because it seems he doesn’t know how to deal with someone so forward and it’s a running gag in the earlier parts of the series. He’s not shy huh? Pretty sure you can chalk the Generations birthday party were she compliments him as one of his shy moments. Only sees her as a friend huh? Sonic’s idle dialogue about Amy in Frontiers says otherwise. The beginning and end of Sonic and the Black Knight already implies they were going on a date hence why Amy gets pissed that he missed it. Prior, Sonic Unleashed has prompts that allow the player to choose whether to accept a date or not with her. Sonic 06 and the trial of love part, when Amy is selected, it states something along the lines of, “I see you have chosen your long time love.” That right there already implies along with the previous examples that there was something already there. On a side note: in the 1992 Sonic the hedgehog manga; Emi(Amy), is the girlfriend of Nikki whose alter ego is Sonic.

You forgot about evolution of Amy's releishenship with Sonic. At the beginning it was like theat, but leather their relationship evolved. Proof is seen in comics and sonic frontirs and show's like Sonic boom and Sonic Prime.❤ Can we all just forget about thous old games and foukes on current ones.❤❤😂 It's already confirmed that Sonic is interested in Amy.(by Twitter posts).

@@sallytrix8713 The official description says that although he was overwhelmed, he still decided to go, he did not sabotage anything because he was at that moment trapped in the book and living in the events of Black Knight. It has nothing to do with what you said because if he had rejected her completely, he wouldn't go to that date in the first place.

Nice review of the topic. A few things I would add: We can hardly call Amy Rose a real love interest, because Sonic does NOT want to date her. I don’t understand why so many fans don’t get that. For over two DECADES, Sonic has had a look of terror in his eyes when he sees Amy coming, because he does NOT want this affection from her. He can see her good traits, and knows she’s a strong ally in emergencies, but once that emergency is over, she goes back to being a creepy stalker trying to force her way into a relationship with Sonic, and he is not about that. Thank heavens she calmed the fuck down for Frontiers. It should never have taken so long. I don’t understand why people were so upset about that kiss with Elise. I don’t agree with the pairing only because of the weird writing for them; I feel like Sonic was toned down too much to be a specific fit for Elise. Had their characterizations been different, who knows. The whole bestiality thing has no value here. Sonic is human enough that it doesn’t count as that, and at least there was mutual affection in this situation. Plus we all know that there a tons of fans that would give their right arm to have sex with Rouge. So yeah, can't play that card here. I was never able to keep up with the Archie continuity. I knew that over such a long run that things got complicated (I’m sure there are videos going deeper into it around, I just never cared enough to look). Never knew Bunny had been an option. It’s a little strange, but I can also see it working if done right. Along with the trend of human girls as a love interest, there also seemed to be this cat girlfriend thing going on behind the scenes. Tiara was mentioned, and there was also Honey the Cat from a different canceled game that was going to be a love interest. There is shipping fuel with Blaze at the end of Sonic Rush, but it’s left very open to interpretation. (Though in the IDW comics, I’ve seen screen shots where there is at least a crush on her end, and Sonic seems to like her company WAY more than Amy.)

She's the perfect match for Sonic, who's all about adventure, freedom, and having a good time. Sally's the kind of girl who can keep Sonic grounded while still having a blast with him. You seem to be confused about sonic and Sally's relationship In the archie comics so here's a summary. Sonic and Sally Were childhood friends. Then they were in an "It's complicated" thing for a while, Till issue 123 where they finally made it official. However soon after, Sonic gets sent across the galaxy and is presumed dead but shows up back home two years later. The two of them pick up where they left off for a bit. But after Sally sees Sonic almost die immediately after coming back, she trys to get sonic to give up the whole hero thing. Sonic tells her she's being unreasonable, she slaps him, and they break up in the infamous issue 134. Sally was later suppose to get married to Antoine but it turned out it wasn't actually Antoine, but an evil Antoine from another universe. Sonic stops the wedding with this info. Get the real Antoine back, who marries Bunny, whom he really loved. Sonic and Sally start dating other people, until issue 212 where they sort of get back together. Sally apologized for her actions in 134 and the two officially get back together a few chapters later. After that, Some stuff go's down. The Genesis wave happens, soft rebooting the comic, then the comic gets canceled. However if the mess with Ken Penders hadn't happened, chances are, "as indicated in the 30 years later story" The two of them would have got married and had two kids.
