The main reason I love Jonny Hawkins and the band is that I feel like there's someone else that shares the same mentality as I do. Being able to relate gives me reassurance.

i listened to Nothing More back when Jenny was on the radio, and i was so blown away by their unique style i looked up their other music and just fell in love with the band. the album The Story we tell ourselves was the first album from any band where i loved every single song, loved it so much when they lost to concrete and gold by foo fighters i was pissed.

I discovered Nothing More in 2015 I think when someone posted their song Jenny in Twitter. Was blown away by the song and I said to my hubbie, hey listen to this. This band is amazing. Just like me, he was blown away too and big fans every since. Seen them already 6 times live. Their concerts are BEYOND aMazing !!

In 2014 around when the self titled record came out, I heard them do an interview on Octane and then Here’s to the Heartache came on and I was blown away. What hooked me is their crazy style, strong dynamics, and equally strong melodies that stick in your brain all day long. So happy watching their trajectory ever since.

Hey I got to witness a tiny bit of Nothing More coming up. I remember something like 20 years ago they were a tiny little core band and Johnny was the drummer back then. They came through a couple of times at the club I was a bookie for and ran sound for. And then I took a different direction in life for a few years. Came back to running sound at a club and Nothing More came through. This was in support for the album with “Jenny” and “ballast” and these guys BLEW ME AWAY! Johnny was now on vocals. There was a whole stage show. They did a wicked 3 man bass solo. And as the sound guy I worked with them that night. Although I had worked with them before, it was different this time. I could tell they were on a whole different level than most of the bands that came through the club. First off they were SUPER PROFESSIONAL about how they handled themselves. Also they were just simply the sweetest group of guys I’ve ever met. So humble and down to earth. They knew they knew they have been working hard and it was starting to pay off but they didn’t let that leak into an ego thing. They were just super cool and it left a lifelong impression on me. This video premieres in 18 minutes from now. I hope it reflects some of what I’m saying here. These guys deserve the world right now. They work hard and they are so cool about it.

We used to have big house parties at my house back in 2007. Nothing More used to always come over for the after-party when they were in town after their shows. Jonny was the drummer at the time. Trey Graham was the lead singer. Josh was on guitar along with Mark. One time Jonny left his bag at our house and I spent $100 to ship it back to San Antonio. So, Jonny, you owe me $100.

discovered these guys on youtube back in 2014 and was BLOWN AWAY, Im so happy their getting the recognition they deserve, cant believe its already been 10 years since then. Their manager hit me up on fb one time when they were in town opening for HellYeah and i commented something like oh have a great show, so bummed it was sold out id love to be there and their manager will hit me up and offered tickets and a chance to meet the guys….i saw the message 2 days AFTER the show 😂😂 ill regret that forever lol being a drummer who likes to sing myself they were just an inspiration right away, and still are. New album is PHENOMENAL

I came across Nothing More on a back road trying to find a radio station and the only one to come in was super fukkin staticky and I could barely barely hear the high note lyric "this is the time that we let it go" and kinda nothin else..so when I got home I honestly thought it was Mariah Brink and I jus couldn't find it until I member the hook and searched "this is the time that we let it go new song" and NOT A SiNGLE MISS on the entire album..it was the very first cd I ever spent money on to have in my car..most everyone else I like I jus KZfaq. I love this band and have since I found them in one of the darkest spots of my life...their lyrics and melodies to this day get me through so much. Then I found The Butterfy Effect a cpl years ago and they hit my soul too..if yall don't know bout them you need to lookem up..they're and Australian prog rock band and they get me...they've a more Chevelle mixed in with Muse a Lil bit of a sound but in the best way..anyways sorry for blowing yall up

Thanks for this interview! I love this band. Their music is incredible! And Johnny is so cute and charming!☺🤗

I found Nothing More through a reaction channel (Alex Hefner...I think that's his name...), and was blown away. 5 or 6 of their songs helped me through the rehashing of a break up from 15yrs ago (She and I were finally able to really let it all out and be honest with each other and have the closure we never got. Hard and sad, but good in the end). To be honest I didn't know they had a new album...going to listen to it now. Fun interview, thanks for all the work you do! 🤘

Would have liked to hear more about the beginning of the band with the many singers they had. Jonny is the best, but those first two records, Vandura and Save You/Save Me have great material, and the other singers provide a unique sound to their development. Last Crusade of Burkina Faso, Noise Without Sound, Welcome Home, and Somewhat Proud are all great pre-Jonny-vocals tracks

@@orbitwhitegum7 I wouldnt even say that. again all subjective, I just found all the songs were more formulaic and more radio friendly than Spirits.. Which made the album lack in just attacking your ears.
