Beautiful side there. Oh wow a cabin in the woods :) Interesting to learn about the cows and why they are everywhere. I seem to find the best rock on my way out also. Very nice find !! My cooking on a budget is mac and cheese with a can of chili in it. Beans and cut up hot dogs. Fried sliced potatoes, sliced smoked sausage, sliced carrots and sliced onion, grilled cheese sandwich dipped in tomato soup, snacks are, uncooked bagged popcorn, popped over a fire then add salt, garlic powder, olive oil and Cajun spice :) And wow love the rainbow quartz 😊

Chili mac for the win! Now we want to make that soon. That popcorn sounds great too. How has the weather been over where you are? We still have a few days of work left here in Minnesota and considering heading East.

@@TheAdventureCloset the weather in my area took a turn for the worst. If you could of been here last week it was nice. Today only 39 degrees and snow coming with high winds for Monday and Tuesday. Not looking better until next weekend. Then only around 50 degrees.

What an amazing Rockhounding Nature hike! Love the Rainbow Quartz crystal!! I swear that's what I'm making for dinner tomorrow night!! Except I'm adding 1 more item to your recipe. Crushed up Nacho Cheese Doritos! One of my favorite struggle meals will always be grilled cheese sandwiches and Tomato soup but if I'm forced to struggle harder then it's a can of Hormel chilli with beans with crushed up saltine crackers added. No shredded cheese since in this scenario I'm really struggling but it's highly recommended. Lol.. Been there done that. It's just delicious. I can't wait to try yours tomorrow night. Charlie, you're 100% right!! I can't believe how often my best finds are on my way back to my vehicle. I say the same thing. That was a very cool public cabin!! I hope it's there for many years to come. Ok guys, one day I'm going to do a bloopers video because I think it will be hilarious at my expense of course and I know a lot of us can relate. Have you guys ever thought about doing one? I'd love to watch it! You probably don't mess up as much as I do so it'll probably have to be a Short video. Lol.. Anyway Charlie and Liz, Great Video!!! Good choices on your struggle meals. Can't go wrong with either of those. We haven't done a blooper vid but we usually leave in all our mistakes so you do get random bloopers. 😆

Well, that rainbow piece sure was amazing! Really liked that neat piece of pottery too. Yup, every time I head back I start finding awesome stuff, lol. My struggle meal was cream of wheat and bread. Mac n cheese n hotdogs was pretty cheap n tasty too. Lately I've been eating alot of tater tot casserole which isn't terribly expensive to make. My coworker gave me her recipe and it's sooo good. Really neat snowmobile cabin our there. Really pretty area to rockhound and explore there. Great video guys 🙂

@@TheAdventureCloset you guys got a crock pot right? Maybe pan fry after all the other ingredients the tater tots. Then add to the crock pot to finish cooking, and melt the cheese and cream of whatever soup and everything else together. 🤷‍♂️

The continental divide trail and the Colorado trail are two completely separate trails. The Colorado trail runs from Denver to Denargo. The continental divide goes from Mexico to Canada
@TheAdventureCloset
@TheAdventureCloset Жыл бұрын
We must have confused them on this one. It would be so awesome to do either trail. I hear the divide trail has the most road walking of the long trails. The PCT is a huge goal of ours someday. Have you done one or considered it?

Omg that rainbow quartz is so beautiful!! And idk how your nails are ever clean Charlie 😂 as soon as we open the van doors I’m covered in dirt 😂 it’s a never ending story cleaning our nails. I love how nice that cabin was on the trail!! And they provided wood and a bathroom 🤩 Our favorite struggle meal is ramen with mushrooms and soy sauce. Degans is Mac n cheese with hot dogs

You two always see cool animals on your journey! What a beautiful area! Cool the continental divide, that's awesome and to stand on the line. So much history here! Cool foundation next to the railroad. It's cool, I've seen a few pieces of coal on my railroad too from the old steam engines. Love the jaspers finds, awesome agates, beautiful quartz! Cool feldspar with smokey quartz. Cool tiny geode piece! I like the agate in host rock. On man, I've grabbed bird poop once, lol, lessons learned! Beautiful little stream there with a tiny waterfall! That was cool. Gorgeous butterfly! Wow thst rainbow in quartz is incredible, now way, so pretty.

That piece of rainbow quartz was beautiful! Good eye Liz! That was really interesting about the railroad, and the pottery. What a perfect little piece of pottery to pick up too. Great job Charlie! And ive had many struggle meals. Weve done shepards pie, used to make this soup with hamburger, beef broth , shell pasta and peas. Or tamale pie, with corm meal, refried beans, canned corn, and grated cheese, and salsa. Im great at throwing together a meal out of the only things left in the cupboards. Thats just me though. Im a pretty good cook. I will try your chili ramen. It actually looks pretty good. Thanks you two for another fabulous exploration of colorado! See you on the next one!

So, I am not sure if anyone else has commented this in other videos. But when it comes to showers, you can get a planet fitness membership for 10$ a month and have access to showers for free then. They are open 24 hrs a day. I know you stay away from big cities or high population areas, but planet fitness is all over the place.

Some sell to rock shops, some buy a cheap tumbler from Harbor Freight to try and polish them, some get deep into lapidary and get saws and flat laps to make jewelry or display pieces, some throw them in their gardens, window sills and any other nook and cranny they find. They make good gifts too. We like to give them to our Patreon members, but we do also have a collection we keep.

powdered sulfur (available at any drugstore or Walmart) dusted with a small cloth onto those places of your body that you mentioned will keep ticks and chiggers away. it's way cheap and works perfectly. Started doing that as a Boy Scout around 60 something years ago. Been everywhere since and never got tick disease because they left me alone (you must still tuck clothing in, etc.) Thanks for all of your wonderful vids filmed with a nice variety of viewpoints. well done! 75 views and only 23 likes? wth people, are you either lazy or just that hard to please?
