A Sale demo for the Rockman XP100 showing both sound and channel switching plus individual functions each part of the unit. Direct Camcorder sound and video.
And remember this is a demo of the Amp not the guitarist so please forgive the sour notes :-)

I had one of these. The head cab was like 2 plastic tool box enclosures. Never should have sold them. My parents worked in the same Waltham, Mass. Polaroid buildings waayyy back. Tom is really showing off his engineering skill with these Amps and effects.

... hehe, i remember this little guy - you can make it in 2 pieces for a wide stereo signal - i played this one with two music man amps at the same time stereo twice - what a sound...

The settings are actually the factory defaults. I reset the unit before I listed it and these are the first 20 or so factory defaults.

Thanks so much for sharing the speaker/cap info! I'm pretty sure one or more of my tweeters/speakers need replaced. I won't be replacing them myself, but will give the info to whoever buys mine. i'm selling mine on craigslist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area right now.

I do not know, but I saw where someone posted that they knew the original settings for the first 20 channels so you could reprogram them to factory settings with the info.

Got to love that Rockman a little eq.adjustment in certian presets not all that X100 is definatly way to go I have a sterio chrous delay plus sustainer and I don't get those tones

This is one of the original programmable amplifiers, isn't it? It's not like Line 6 equipment or any other modeler products that have gone in tandem with it, but it definitely foreshadowed stuff like the Line 6 product line in one fashion or another. Wish I could have gotten one. Love to have the sound without having to blow my wallet on profiling technology. I'm assuming you found a taker 9 years ago as of my comment when you posted this video. P. S. Your playing is superb!

Hi, it's been awhile since you posted this but I have one and I would greatly appreciate some of the settings you used, especially the "more than a feeling" finger pick part. Also, I have never replaced the capacitors....is it something that should be done before they go bad? Thanks for the great video

Oh yeah, I had this gear too, for a long time, with the Rockman Midi pedal. It sounds great. But now it has gone the way of all old gear: death and trashcan.

Wow this thing sounds beautiful. Did you need to replace any of the electronics (especially the capacitors)?

Hi, Thanks for the nice comments. I replaced the main filter caps with some new Nichicon and I replaced the internal speaker with direct replacements from Pyle. The original tweeters were lost years back so I ended up using neodymium tweeters and a small filter network to split the frequencies on those. I think that was all I did beyond replacing the original fabric speaker covering. They are great sounding units. It was hard selling this one.

I also used a neo/ tweeter with a small cross over. I will try to find the specs on those.

Anti Law I did this as a quick demo to list it on Ebay and it sold in just a couple days so sadly I won;t be any more demo's with it.

No tubes.. Mostly LED clipping.. You can find a schematic for a clone of the distortion on google. :-)

I had that exact same unit it has speakers built in and it detaches in the middle of the unit for stereo sound

You need a midi foot switch controller sold separately. The original one made especially for the ROCKMAN sold for $200 in 1990 when I bought mine. No, but i wish i knew the name of the module it does have in it. I must find!! I am getting the Sustainor (100 model), but too bad that is not the module in this amp.

+Ash517 yeah, i found that out soon after i posted the comment. Great module but so expensive. I found one for about $900 which is great compared to the combo amp's price, but i still don't just have $900 laying around lol

Logan Prosperie Okay, just makin' sure the info is out there. If you want to get in to Rockman stuff, I'd suggest starting small, like with a Sustainor and Instrument EQ (or if you want to start really small, an X100 or soloist headphone amp).

It does essentially have the components of the Sustainor in it - compressor, pre-eq, distort, post, chorus, echo, cabinet simulator.
