Well, the title says it all I guess. I hope you enjoy this rockin' medley!
I teach the strumming patterns I use when playing open chord rock and roll like this in my Tutorial #5: • Tutorial #5 - Rock 'n'...
You can learn some of the most commonly used riffs in rock and roll and rockabilly from my other guitar tutorials: • Rock and Roll / Rockab...
If you'd like to buy a copy of my new chord songbook '50 from the Fifties', which contains 50 classic rock 'n' roll and rockabilly songs that can be played with just 4 easy open chords, then search for 'Jez Quayle' and 'Rock and Roll' on Amazon. Unfortunately, I can't provide a single Amazon link that will work all around the world.
If Amazon says 'out of stock', or you'd prefer not to use Amazon, you can also purchase the songbook from Lulu.com in paperback or as an eBook (pdf format). Here's the Lulu.com link: www.lulu.com/search?adult_aud...
If you live in the UK follow this Amazon link:
www.amazon.co.uk/50-Fifties-G...
If you live in the USA follow this Amazon link:
www.amazon.com/50-Fifties-Gui...
You can, of course, purchase from Amazon in any country (I think).

excellent lesson, thanks ... what makes your presentation work is the reverb of your vocals, which is due to how you mic'ed the room. In your intro, I thought, oh, he's got a room echo from the mic being positioned straightup in the centre of the room (or there abouts ...) but when you start to sing, that natural reverb of the room makes the vocals come alive. Very low-tech excellence. Thanks!

I’m a sucker for a good medley! Notable that Buddy Holly’s was the only song in the bunch to use all 4 chords. I’ve always thought the Beatles (named after the Crickets) got their love of the B7 from him.

Wow, with a voice like that, and that amazing guitar playing, It's a wonder you were never discovered, we could have got rid of all those other artists, Chuck, Buddy, Elvis, Carl, Bill, etc, we only needed you.

How could anyone not enjoy that. Songs that are instantly recognisable even though most of them are over 60yrs old and it would be great to be able to play them. Perfect campfire songs.
