As someone who was in the road and bridge construction business for 30 yrs, I’ve seen my fair share of equipment operators. I’d rate you as an exemplary operator, and I’d have gladly had you working on any of my projects! You remind me of a good friend of mine who is also exemplary!! Best wishes in all your endeavors!!!!

I feel the same, Scott. I worked for a mining company for 30yrs, VP of operations for 17 of those, during the 30yrs I've only seen one operator that would even compare to be considered exemplary.

My uncle took me in as a helper in 01 by a company named Tepsco, they installed chill water pipe for universities and hospitals, we would dig the shafts 30' deep 20' long 10' wide. The company would subcontract the tunnels to other company. Man the things my uncle would do with that trackhole, cherrypicker , were amazing he was in the business for 50 yrs, he passed a year ago. I lasted 10 yrs with that company those old timers taught me how to use a shovel, lock a shackle and I gain character through hard work. You re a good operator , you in one with the machine. He's explained before; it's not very GOOD rock. Much easier (and much more profitable) to use it as filler for someone who wants a field extended along a hill than to deliver it anywhere for it to be crushed, screened, and sold as aggregate or ornamental gravel. Although I still maintain that if you put up a sign offering to sell the rocks, they'd start vanishing on their own. He HAS obtained a couple of choice boulders as garden ornaments, though.

What the G/C needed to do was truck in a mobile crusher. Smash the boulders down to proper sizing, then let the crusher crunch the lot down to inch or smaller sieve for grade and driveway purposes. That was simply too much material just to be hauled off like that.

Buckets gonna need some shims before too long, kinda sounds like she already needs em. Keep up the great work Chris, you’re a hell of a worker.

Cities don't really think much when requiring this or that on every site. Ours require a pond twice the size of the parking lot. That is a bit excessive. They don't care what is underground or what is on top.

I notice your machine seems to have developed a "creeking" noise when operating. (Just at the beginning - it seemed to disappear later) Need for some attention/grease/oil?? Great work on that site - and great patience to extract all thos rocks!!

I typically don't watch these kinds of channels. However the finesse and skill level this guy has, has got to be one of the best I've ever seen. If i ever had a project that required the use of an excavator. I'd pay the extra just to have him on my job site.

Sounds like the Volvo has a bit of a squeak in her beam. Also, let me guess, they are going to haul in a bunch of ugly pre cast concrete blocks to build a retaining wall. I’ll bet that was the best the Landscape Architect or Civil Engineer could come up with. Respectfully, Kevin
