Hi there, I know this is an old comment, but I was hoping you could comment on maybe using the 93m or 100m for salmon, fishing in the 2-10lb range?

First I want to thank Sensei Masahiko Motobayashi for his teachings and for humbly sharing his legendary knowledge . Furthermore, for helping develop these amazing rods. Tomorrow I’m picking up the 93M. I have practically every Zenaq under the sun times 3 including the 11’6” discontinued black fin sea bass and 3 piece 12’6” k guide and love them. All and all about 30 rods from Zenaq. They are magical when you fish them and no other rod on the planet casts like them. I own century and ripple including black hole and manny other big names. Every time I fish a Zenaq rod around Hingham or Boston Harbor, people come to check their beauty and see how far they cast. My dream is to fish with Mr. Motobayashi one day and learn even more from him in person. So much respect❤

@@shorejiggerchris3364 Hey bud, so what Zenaq has done, they have mixed characteristics from Plaisir Jawbreaker. and the Sonio 100M. The 93M is dedinetly more technical than the 100M and a lot crispier and more responsive. They decreased the diameter by 1mm at least but they stiffened the lower 60% of the blank towards the butt and you can see that as well when Mr. Masahiko swings both of them in circular motion to show the lure weight effect on the blanks. So the responsiveness is between Jawbreaker and Mythos Duro Pencil 100m which I believe is 30g-100g. For the size it is incredibly powerful and extremely easily to use. A lot better than Sonio 100M in manny aspects. Is it worth owning both? Absolutely. If you had to choose go with the 93M. Sorry to much rambling :)

@@eltonurumi4979 Thanks for you time friend.I has the 100m but did not like it for jigs more than 60-70gr.Also a bit flexible rod.So can the 93m use perfect jigs from 40-80gr or even slim ones of 100gr?Please upload a video on your channel so sonio lovers can enjoy because there os no other info for this rod.

@@shorejiggerchris3364 Chris I don’t do videos but 40-80 perfect and 100 no problem and the tip is not as soft as the 100M.

You just made the perfect rod for me,I will definitely try to purchase it next year (I jus bought two rods and my wife will literally kill me),I was looking for top tier 9ft rods since they are my favourite size and nobody makes them. Motobayashi san is very exited with this rod I can tell (I think this is his personal master piece,all this years of experience and zenaq craftsmanship put it together in one rod) ,he is going to use this rod a lot so I can't wait to see it performing.

İ had second thoughts about Sonio 100m , my friends have it and they say it is too much flexible to fight fierce fish like large bluefish.They prefer to use yamaga 97mmh instead which can actually overpower and hold up the flsh from water easily. This new model looks like it will be easier to counter large bluerunner and bluefish compared to 100m. And being lighter helps out for jigging too , Sonio 100m is too heavy 300 gr

Since you're lucky to have friends who own the sonio and others rods the best way is to tell your friends to let you use each rod and decide which one you like the best. All people like different feelings. I'm pretty sure the new Sonio 93 is similar if not almost the same to 100M in terms of flexibility and not a big difference in weight, the main feature is that is a little bit shorter in my opinion and I'm saying this because even Masahiko said in one of his videos that Sonio 100 was similar to 100H but just for bigger fish. I'm pretty sure sonio 100 is not 300gr is about 290gr however regardless of the wight 10, 15, 20, 30gr won't make a big difference. If you check all high-end rods weight about the same

Giuseppe Fanten caught 37 Kg Amberjack with Sonio 100m...With that I rest my case about it being weak to handle big fish.

I'm wondering if rod like this could fit for big Pike fishing with big softbaits (length 6-8 inch bait plus 10-20g jighead). Anyone has any experience, thoughts on that?

@@flasht9689 I.e. Keitech Easy Shiner 8" is around 41gr, + 15 gr jig head is already 56gr. Also when using "offset" system You need the power for hook-up. Large pike has hard jaws, so if the rod is not powerful enough it's hard to hook up it. At least that's my thinking...

Disappointment..despite how good is Sonio I was expecting a rod that can handle 30-40 gr jig something to replace the Muthos Outrange but unfortunately there is nothing to Zenaq Muthos to use specific for that jig range

Sonio 100M is perfect for lighter jigs. I use it for 30-90 jigs.

@@flasht9689 30g is Not ideal. Sweet spot for sonio 100m is around 60g

@@flasht9689 to me the rod is too heavy for that. It would be nice to have a similar rod with sweet spot 30-40g. That would be awesome…
