Noah Michalski True, but it is a technique that Megadeth (and many other metal bands) employ almost exclusively on rhythm sections, using alternate picking when you're meant to be using downstrokes changes the accentuation and tone as the pick angle doesn't stay consistent, downstrokes keep the attack consistent.

Shall i post out too the video thread inn Reddit for more opinions, our are you going to fess up before you are faced with a multitude of video hobbyists calling you a liar. I can't play much Megadeth, there's no shame in that- it's really, really tough.

It's honestly personal preference. Mustaine usually alt-picks it but Broderick was usually seen down-picking it.

For the B power chord you down pick it, for everything else you alternate pick it. Kiko Loureiro plays it like that anyways.
