Yes this guy played it very well and im not taking it away, but it's a very easy hammer on solo, you could play it yourself after a week of practice or even sooner :)

at 1:11 or so he does kind of like a mute chord strum and it sounds awesome, is that a technique? if so what's it called I want to learn how to make it sound good.

I dont know how to explain it because english is not my main idiom, but you do it muting all the strings by touching them. lol

its a simple fret hand mute, just hold your fret hand over the strings but don't press them down to the fret bored(If that makes any since) and use a heavy distortion and strum all the strings , aaaannndddd I see this was 7 months ago you probably figured it out
